フィラデルフィアのサイケ・フォークバンド、「エスパーズ」の歌姫のソロ作。
木漏れ日に輝く後姿のジャケがなんとも印象的ですが、内容もまた淡いサイケデリアを感じさせる美しい世界で満ち溢れています。
曲目はフォーク・カントリー調のトラッド・ソングが４曲と、カバー曲が４曲ほど、そして彼女自作曲が２曲といった内容。
ほぼギターのみの演奏に彼女の、透き通った高い空にうっすらとかかる雲のように美しい声がのるだけのシンプルなものですが、
不思議と全く飽きさせません。
トラッド・ソングは、西洋の伝承音楽に触れる機会の無かった私には逆に新鮮に感じられ、またフォークの偉大なる先達の曲も、
彼女の幽玄ともいえる歌声により、サイケな神秘性を増しており新たな息吹が吹き込まれているようです。
個人的にはジミー・ウェッブ作曲の「Do What You Gotta Do」のカバー曲に心洗われるような美しさを感じ、心を揺さぶられました。

New Riders Of The Purple Sage の All I Ever Wanted をカバー。これだけでも買いたくなるが・・・。抑制のきいた大好きなこの曲をカバーするなんてなんてセンスなんだろう。これを機会に、New Riders Of The Purple Sage のカントリーぽくない曲が再評価されるといいなあ。
