小谷美紗子、待望のシングルは初回限定生産盤!M-2はアルバム未収録のレアトラック。即完・注意!突き抜けたような歌声、胸に刺さる魂のつまった抒情詩で、eastern youth、ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION、 LOST IN TIME、bloodthirsty butchers、また青木さやか、ダイノジなど数多くの人々からリスペクトされる小谷美紗子のニューシングルは、前作に引き続き100s、スネオヘアーで活躍中のDr玉田豊夢、Ba山口寛雄が参加する最強のピアノトリオによって制作されたセルフプロデュース作。M-1「YOU」は歌&ピアノと太く強くしなるベース、そしてタイトなドラムが、まさに三位一体となっており、そして耳に残るメロディーと歌詞が印象的なサビはとにかく自然と耳に溶け込んでくるアップテンポな楽曲。そしてM-2「オオカミ」は3rdアルバム『うた き』にも収録されていた楽曲の新録trioヴァージョン。このシングルのみに収録されるレアな名曲で、最近のライブでのお馴染みの人気楽曲です。3月7日に2枚目のベストアルバム『Quarternote 2nd』リリースしたばかり、そして07/4/29にはARABAKI ROCK FEST.07出演、さらに今後発表されるであろう数々の夏フェス出演など、その勢いが止まらない。

1996年、シングル『嘆きの雪』でデビュー。

100sの玉田豊夢、山口寛雄とのトリオ編成が完成の域に達していて、カッコいいの一言。
どこかにも書いてあったけど、カップリングの曲がまたいい。アルバム「うたき」に入っ
ていた「オオカミ」のトリオバージョン。これだけを聞くために購入してもいいぐらいに
すばらしい出来。ああ、小谷ファンでよかった。

小谷美紗子は20代前半の若い頃と今とで曲調などが大きく違う。聴く人の成長に合わせて同期を取るとはまるけれど外すとちょっとイタく感じることもある。２曲目の「オオカミ」は名盤『うたき』に入っていた曲で、このような歌詞は小谷美紗子以外には書けない。オリジナルはひりひりするような感触を放つ曲調の中にあったが、ここでは一歩引いて落ち着きを持った歌い方が歌詞の内容に合っている。成長の前と後。今はこちらのほうがいい。
