ミト(ベース)が木村カエラに楽曲を提供するなど、メンバー個々の活動も活性化しはじめたクラムボンによる、約2年ぶりのオリジナル・アルバム。曲作りを含めて約60日という短いタームで制作された本作は、ミト、伊藤大助(ドラム)、原田郁子(キーボード)のセッションが軸になっていて、これが本当に素晴らしい。楽器とプレイヤーがひとつになり、3つの音が有機的に絡み合いながら生み出される楽曲は、刺激的なインナープレイと自由なアイデアに満ちていて、聴く者の想像力をグングンと刺激する(特に「GOOD TIME MUSIC」における、スピード感に満ちたセッションは強烈!)。「あいのふかさ おもいのふかさ」というボーカルに心震える「あい の ひびき」など、ますます奥深さを増している原田郁子の歌詞も、ひどく魅力的。(森朋之)

サラウンドのような初期のころのポップさはないです。何度も何度も繰り返して聞くと本当によさがわかってきて気がつくと口ずさんでいたりします。必要最低限の音と楽器だけで本当にシンプルな演奏なのだけれど、本当にいいです。てん、」から取り組んできたことのより進歩した形なのかもしれません。

悲しい歌、というわけでもないのだけれどどこかに漂う寂しさのような雰囲気が好きです。

このアルバム、価格を下げるためにメンバーがいろいろと試みたという。
ラジオで知ったのだがやはり誠実だ。

とても表情豊かなアルバムだ。基本的には淡々とリズム良く進むのだが
緩急を付けるようにアップテンポとミドルテンポを組み合わせた前半、
そして後半、畳み掛けるようにディープな曲が続き、引き込まれる。
正にタイトルの「Musical」に恥じない傑作と云いたい。

静かに抑えるように歌うのがほとんどだが、中には「Carnival」のような
刺激的な曲もあり、「Bass,Bass,Bass」はミトがムーディに歌う異色な曲。
と面白い冒険心も健在。派手ではないかも知れないし、メディアの注目度から
すれば以前の方が上だったかもしれないがそれでもこの作品は素晴らしく、
長く長く聴けるであろうCDと思える。

ちなみに「Gould」というのはピアニストの名前だそうだ。

どんな言葉で言い表せば良いのか…兎に角、良い唄と良い音楽が、ここにはあるんです。日本の音楽は、つまらないなんて言う思考停止な人物像と言うのは、メディアが作り上げた虚像であると信じたいのですが、もしもそんな不憫な方が実在するならば、これを聞けと言いたい。良くも悪くも何も感じられなければ不感症としか言い表せないです。カスな、お笑い芸人が作ったCDや、グラビアアイドルが片手間に作ったCDとは同じ、ディスクでも価値は同価値じゃ無いです。僕は、仮に5000円でも買います!大傑作!
