過去の作品と比較しても一番いいと思う。確かにやや激しいものが
多いと感じるかもしれないが、世界は変わってないと思う。
声は個人的にはもっと憎悪をむき出しにしたデスヴォイスが好みだが、
世界観や雰囲気を考えるとこれで良いなと思う。
メタル好きとかではなく、世界観に興味がある人にはぜひ聞いてもらい
と感じた。見た目で敬遠するのはなくなると嬉しい。
マナ好きな僕は、ぜひ男に聞いてもらいたい一枚である

自分的に前作の「Beyond the Gate」が、かなり良かったので
今回もかなり期待していたのですが・・・
さすがはMana。期待以上の作品でした。
まず、全体的に曲が激しいのがこのアルバムの特徴です。
僕はMdMにマリスの影を見てしまっていたのですが
良い意味で吹っ切れました。
このアルバムを聴いて。
当初（Juka時代）のMdMはマリスの匂いがかなりして
自分的にはかなり複雑でした。もちろん曲は良かったのですが。
ボーカルのJukaも明らかにGacktを意識しての歌い方だったし。
これはManaが指示したのかなと思ったんですけど、
違いました。彼はソロでも変わってませんでした。
彼には彼のよさがありますが、僕は断然今のMdMのボーカル、
Sethの方が好きですね。Sethの方が男受けしそうです。
彼のボーカルは男らしくて、何よりデスボイスが良い。
Voice、Kとの絡みが最高です。
ヴィジュアル系だから・・・と躊躇している男性の方、
是非、聴いてみてください。
「dispell bound」「Metaphysical」「exclude」が特にお勧めです。

評価を各書く前に曲目を書いておきます。
1.dispell bound

さて本作だが、Mana様のルーツであるメタル/スラッシュメタルにかなり接近した内容で、サウンドは全体的にヘヴィかつ疾走感溢れるものになっている。卓越した演奏も大きなセールスポイントで、激しいサウンドを求める人には満足のいくものだと言える。だがヘヴィネスに気を取られたせいか、逆にメロディの甘美さは抑えられてしまった。十分に展開しきれていない中途半端メロディアスな曲も多い。
つまり何を期待して聴くかによって非常に評価が分かれると思われる。それと残念なことに、ボーカルはまだまだ下手で、加えて彼の歌唱法(フレーズの最後をふわっと浮かせるような歌い方、シャンソンとかムード歌謡なんかによくみられる)が今回のハードなサウンドには見事に不釣り合いである。あと、ペシミストのリメイクは明らかに失敗で、その点もまことに残念。ちなみに、ブックレットはきれいに仕上がっていたと思う。

上記のことを総合的に判断し(少し贔屓目に見て…)、★4としました。
