まず、この映画の結論から申せばニューヨーク市警を馬鹿にした映画といえるでしょう。
ただの人質立てこもり銀行強盗事件なのに犯人を取り逃がすとは情けない。

デンゼル・ワシントン、ジュディ・フォスターという２大オスカー役者が共演という話題もあったが、やはり強盗犯役のクライブ・オーウェンの演技が人一倍光っていたね。

あまりにも単純すぎるストーリー展開と結末で少し物足りなかった。特に刑事役のデンゼルがもう少し切れ者で犯人を圧倒する展開の方が良かった気がするが、全てにおいて後手に回った形となり、知能犯の勝利となってしまった。

　素の状態で見たらスパイク・リーの監督とは思えない作品。犯罪映画としては洒落た映画だと思います。犯罪のトリックも面白いし、先入観なしに見たら普通に面白い映画です。最後にタイトルの意味が判りますが、中の（インサイド）の男（マン）とは絶妙のタイトルだと思います。
　豪華な出演者が話題になりましたが、デンゼル・ワシントン、クライブ・オーウェンの実力者同士の演技合戦は面白かったけれど、ジョディ・フォスターとウィレム・ダッフォーはもう少し出番があってもよかった。むしろ脇の人物なのにこの２人の大物俳優をキャスティングしてしまったために、本当の主役の２人に対する焦点がややボヤけてしまった感もあります。もう少しじっくりとデンゼル・ワシントンとクライブ・オーウェンの対決を見たかった感は否めないけれど傑作のひとつだと思います。

どうやって脱出するんだ？
誰が犯人メンバーなんだ？
真の目的は何なんだ？

と物語の先読みを楽しみつつも、
出演者勢の演技が巧みで、且つ、いい感じに力が抜けていて
テンポの良い演出もあいまって、
心地よい上質の犯罪映画を観させてもらった、という感じです。
