これは今までのLINKIN PARKではない。
激しさもなりを潜め、バラード調の曲が多く、メロディ重視なアルバムになっている。
1st、2ndの激しいサウンドやシャウトこそがLINKI PARKだと思っている人は非常に退屈でつまらないアルバムだと思ってしまっても仕方ないだろう。
しかし、自分は激しさがなくなっただけでその価値が失われてしまうバンドではないと思う。
こんな曲も作れるんだ！と、いい意味でバンド対する印象が変わった。
特に「Shadow Of The Day」は激しさは全く無いが、素晴らしい曲だと思うし、
「Given Up」や「No More Sorrow」は今までの激しさを十分に残しているスカっとする曲だと思う。
他にも様々なテイストの曲があり、バラエティに富んだ作品である。
自分は今後のLINKIN PARKにより期待が持てるアルバムだった。
4thは素晴らしい作品になるに違いない。

かなりの賛否両論があるようだけど、それはLINKINが新たな道へ踏み出したことの皆の戸惑いのようなものだと感じている。聞いてのとおりLINKINの今作はハイブリッド、メテオラのスタイルを大きく変えラップや独特のヘビィなサウンドが殆どない。メロディックになりチェスターのエモーショナルな歌声が大きく前面に出ている楽曲が殆ど。しかし過去二作品のチェスターの声はどこかプロデュースされすぎ感があり、そこがバンドの弱点だったが今作は彼はどの楽曲ものびのびと自由に歌えているように感じる。ロックバンドである以上何年も同じスタイルで攻めるわけにはいかない。形を変え新たな形にトライすることが求められる。彼らはそれに今作で挑んだ。その勇気は賞賛に値すると思う。確かにファンの反感を買ったのも事実。しかしどの楽曲も完成度は高く彼らはただのラップロックバンドではないことを示した。成長したと感じている。どうかもっと彼らを広い目でみてほしい。そうすればLINKINの新たな魅力を感じられるはず！

アメリカのへヴィロック…だったバンドの実に四年ぶりになる待望の新作。

世界的に大ヒットした前々作、前作がニューメタル路線で、重いギター、ラップにメロディアスといった音楽であったので、
大幅に曲調を変えてきた今作に期待していた人は拍子抜けしたと思います…。実は自分もその内の一人です(^^;)
ですが、このアルバム駄作かといわれると違うような気がするのです。
　
　皆様が言われるように今作は今までの彼らのニューメタルな曲調ではないです。今作で今までの曲調に通じるのは(2)と(4)辺りだけみたいなものです。
でも、だからといってコレを切り捨てるのは勿体無さすぎる。そもそも今作はどこで前作と前々作に劣っていますか?!
確かにへヴィなギター、ラップ、曲のインパクトは今までに比べて確かに後退していますが…曲のスケール、曲展開の多様性、演奏力、
メッセージ性など大幅な面で今作は進化したと思います。
まあリンキンが出していなければ、みんな揃って傑作と言うようなアルバムになるのかな…。難しいです…(-_-;)

　とりあえず今作が彼らとしては重大な分岐点となるのはきっと間違いないでしょう。
今作は今までリンキンを子供の音楽だと敬遠していた人もきっと聴いて頂けるアルバムになっていると思います。
へヴィロック・ファンでない方にも聴いていただける作品です。
