何回も何回も聴いているんですが過去の 4 枚にあって今回のアルバムに無いものがあるんですよ。曲もアレンジもいいし、ルーファスの歌も完璧。ではそれが何かずーっと考えていたんですが、 「ウットリする様な恍惚感」 が今回まったく無くなっているんです。これがルーファス言うところの「新しいルーファス」なら仕方ないけど、結局ぼくがルーファスの音楽に求めていたものってそれだったんだと思いました。

Rufusの全楽曲の中では“art teacher”が好き、アルバムでは“Want2”が最高！っていうアタシにとって、こんどのアルバムは「完璧！だけど、なんだかちょっと喰い足りない」感じがしてる。
Rufus、きっと今は幸せなのよネ。愛する彼とうまくいってて、幸福なカンジがビシビシ伝わってくるワ。
ジャケットデザインなど、あれこれドイツにちなんでるのも、その辺りが背景なのよネ。
Rufusのファンとしては、Rufusが幸せならばそれでいいって言ってあげたいけど、不安とときめきで崩れそうになりながらも、ぴんと張りつめた畸形の美しさを保っていた以前のRufusからは、やっぱりちょっと変わっちゃった感じが、聴いてるアタシの一番深いといころをくすぐられない原因なのかしらって思う。
アーティストからエンターティナーの方向にシフトしたってことなのかしら。
それでも、Rufusのすばらしさが損なわれたことにはならないけれどネ。
Rufusはこれからも、もっとすばらしくなる、さらに化けてくれることを願って、星四つ。星といえば、表題作のRelease the Starsは最高ね。このCD買ってよかったワ。

ある日、森の中で全曲通して聴いてみた時に、自分が解き放たれていくのを感じました。それは幽体離脱的な感覚じゃなくて、木々や風や光や川のせせらぎの中に溶けてしまいそうな感覚。。

スピリチュアルで、文学的で、Insideなのに、Outside。
なんだか、初期のDavid Bowieを匂わす雰囲気です。
