前作から約1年半振りの竹井詩織里さんのニューアルバムです。
今作は先行発売された季節をテーマにした4枚のシングルの流れを汲み、タイトルの「Diary」が示す様に、アルバム1枚で1年を表現したアルバムだそうです。
春がテーマのシングル「桜色」から始まり、冬がテーマの同じくシングルの「夢のつづき」までの12曲と、outroと表記されている竹井さん作詞・作曲の「Sleep」でまた1曲目の「桜色」につながるという凝った作りになっています。
これまでに発表された作品同様、暖かく、柔らかく、それでいて存在感のあるとても優しい作品になっていると思います。
ボサノバ、ジャズ、バラード、遊び心の入ったこれまでとはちょっと趣の違った曲と様々なジャンルを自然に歌いこなせる竹井さんの表現力には、いつもホッとさせられるものがあります。
たぶん彼女はそんなに器用なタイプではないと思うのですが、歌で様々な感情を伝えようとする姿勢には、いつも納得させられるものがあります。
当然男性ファンが多いとは思いますが、女性も共感できるアルバムではないでしょうか。
一度インストアライヴで竹井さんの生の歌声を聴く機会がありましたが、とても澄んでいて、優しい歌声だったことを覚えています。
デビュー以来コンスタントにライヴを重ねてきている彼女ですが、そろそろ本格的なツアーでたっぷり、じっくりと歌を聴いてみたいところですが…。
派手さは無いですが、過去の2枚のアルバム同様、長く聴くことの出来るアルバムだと思います。
今回のジャケットは、すごく雰囲気が出ていて良いですね。
暖かくなってきた、春の陽だまりの中で聴くのにピッタリのオススメの1枚です。

06年2月〜07年2月にかけてリリースされたSingle4タイトルを含む
本作「Diary」は、“季節を過ごす”ではなく、“季節を重ねる”という
表現が似合う、ほのかにあたたかいものが胸に残るアルバムでした。

これまでの作品の雰囲気を踏襲しながらも、多種多様なアレンジや、
ご本人の作詞・詞曲の作品を収録するという、新たな試みも見られ、
安心感と新鮮さを、同時に感じさせてくれたようでした。
(ご本人作詞・作曲の作品は、桜色（Track3「或る日の朝に」）と
Like a little love（Track3「流星」）にも収録されています。）

今回も多彩な作家陣で構成されていますが、曲にバラツキはなく、
1stの頃からの作家陣の曲とも相性が良く、初めから終わりまで
安心して聴き通せることも、魅力です。

はじめにブックレットに目を通した時は、珍しく1曲1曲の季節感が
バラバラだなと思ったのですが、アルバムタイトルの「Diary」が
示すように、12の曲の並びや歌詞の内容等、12ヶ月のそれぞれの
季節、月とリンクしており、通して聴けば1年をひと巡りできてしまう
作りに気づき、なるほどなぁと関心させられました。

「夢のつづき」から「sleep」にかけて季節の狭間へと移り変わり、
そして、次の新しい季節へ...

春から始まり、次の春へと向かいながら幕を閉じていく本作は、
いつ、どの季節に聴いたとしても、この“はじまり”の季節を
さりげなく、心に舞い戻らせてくれるのではないかと思います。

心穏やかな時間を過ごすために、欠かせない1枚となりました。

ここまで完成度の高い作品は他に例を見ないでしょう！（少なくとも今年度は…）。12曲すべてが前作より１段、いや２段階確実にレベルアップしているように思います。

今回収録のSingle曲は全てGARNET CROWのAZUKI 七が手掛けている。その独特の創造力に加え竹井詩織里の歌声が絶妙にあいまっている。圧巻は「桜色」と「Like a little Love」。両者ともすばらしいバラードに仕上がっており、何度聴いても飽きがこない！

今作品はそれだけでなく、味のある曲が揃っている。一目ぼれならず一聴きぼれしたのが、「いびつな果実」と「サイクル」である。この２曲が彼女の成長を物語っているといっても過言ではない。さらに「迷子の街」、「milky way」、「Sweet Home」などの曲も一際異彩を放つ。と私は思う…

12曲が一通りの季節を表現したと謳うだけあって、素晴らしい作品となっています。
本作品を既に聴いたあなたは、見る目、いや聞く耳あると私は思います。だって素晴らしい作品しかないのだから、聴かないのは絶対損ですよね…

しかし、これほどの歌唱力いや才能がある彼女を、世間ではもっと高い評価をしていない。
不思議な世の中だと思いませんか？？
