Album Description

The music From Autumn to Ashes created on Holding A Wolf By The Ears heralds a new beginning for the New York-based band. "I want to do everything I can to get people to realize that this is really like a new band," says Francis Mark, lead vocalist.

The most recognizable sign of this reinvention is Mark's recent shift from drummer to drummer and full-time vocalist, a result of the departure of former lead singer Benjamin Perri. But over the course of the album's 12 tracks, it becomes clear that for the band, that more has changed than just a voice.

メンバ再編成、大正解。

椅子から立ち上がったフランシスの『非マッチョ』なスクリームが
痛々しくて疲労度は以前よりも増してます。
その分クリーンパートが非常に心地いい。

もう、ここからでもいいのでは？

メタル/パンク/ハードコア/スクリーモなど様々なジャンルを取り入れた
FROM AUTUMN TO ASHESの通算４枚目となるアルバム。
サウンド的にはALEXISONFIRE、UNDEROATHに似たものがあると思います。

あふれる激情と鋭く突き刺すようなシャウトが牙を剥き、重厚かつスピーディにザクザクと
切り刻まれるメタリックなリフによるグルーヴ感、途中５曲目あたりにミドルテンポな曲を
挟みつつも基本的に熱く速く突っ走り、ラストのPioneersまで止まらない。
それでいて全編通してメロディアス＆キャッチー、特に7曲目Everything I Needの
哀愁感漂うメロディには感動すら覚えます。最高にカッコイイ。

他にも1.Deth Kult Social Club/2.On The Offensive/4.Daylight Slaving/
9. Love It or Left Itなどおすすめ。Myspaceで聴けるので良かったらどうぞ。
ヴォーカル変更の不安は杞憂でしたね。

the fiction we live発売後来日して以来気になっていたのですが、前作の不発ぶりと比較し、今回の作品は素晴らしいと思います。脱退したベンヤミン？の声質が強烈だったのと違ってフランシスがリードボーカルとなり、印象は大分変わります。
それでも疾走感溢れるヘヴィとクリアボーカルの融合は相変わらず絶妙。
来日時に見た、歌いながらドラムを叩くフランシスの姿がドラマー加入によりもう見られないと思うと残念ですが、また来日してくれることを祈ります。
pioneerが一番好きですが、オフィシャルで公開されているPVも中々ブラックな出来で気に入ってます。
