実際手にしてみると、変形ギミックや精度等かなり気持の良い作りで総合的にに見て買って正解の商品でした。


購入前は劇中のミチニュアや着ぐるみのプロポーションとの相違が気になってはいましたが、合金製で金色に輝くシャープなロボットとしてのキングジョーって感じでかなり満足度は高いです。


合金部分は胸部と下半身で安定感もあり、頭部と胸のクリアパーツもバッチリ、ディスプレイ台のデザイン&ギミックも文句無し。


あと取説が良いです。キングジョー誕生の秘話や『U警備vs西へ』撮影時の裏話、成田氏のデザインプロセス等を写真を交えて綴っており、殆んど良い読み物の巻末にオマケで取説が付いてるノリです(笑)


気になったのは頭部と胸部の接続部の磁力が弱い事と、手首パーツがディスプレイ台に収納出来ない事ぐらいでしょうか。

こんなのブルマァクのソフビで遊んでいた子供の頃には予想もできなかったよ!…ガキには贅沢だけど

惜しむらくは各パーツの接合がしっかりして欲しかったところです。あとできれば、すべてのパーツをダイキャストにて成形して欲しかったなぁ(そうするとバランスが悪くなるのか?)

ホビー雑誌で変形・合体ギミックの紹介記事を見て、まさに脱帽の思いだ。バンダイのスタッフは凄い!
東映「戦隊シリーズ」のロボットなら初めから合体変形を前提に詳細なデザイン起こしがされているだろうが、『ウルトラセブン』放映時の40年前に誰もそこまで深く考えていたわけはない。せいぜいそれっぽく見えれば御の字だﾁたはず。
オリジナルのデザインを極力変えずにここまで完成度の高い商品を産み出すスタッフ達の腕前は匠の技と言うよりないだろう。心して楽しませていただきます。
財布の中身に余裕があれば、メディコムトイのRAHシリーズ「キングジョー」も合せて揃えたいところだ。
