80年代に一躍アヴァンポップ・シーンで海外進出を果たしたAFTER DINNERを経て、ソロ活動のほかHAPPINESS PROOF、女性トリオHOAHIO、坂本弘道とのASH IN THE RAINBOWなど多岐にわたって作品づくりを続けてきたHACO。歌モノ・ソロのアルバムは久しく、ついに登場した感あり。そして本作では歌、作曲、演奏はもとより全プロデュースを彼女自身がおこなっている。

｢RISKA｣という主人公をめぐる音物語のようなアルバム。
耳元の呟きとも吐息ともいえるような肌理細やかな歌声が、なんとも形容しがたいほど魅力的です。
マリンバの演奏に軽やかなコーラスが揺らぐ陽光のような「プルシャ」、流れる水音とコントラバスがアンニュイな「シャワー・アロン」、溜息のようなヴォイスとトランペットの「ノー・エンヴィ、ノー・ミーンネス」、タイトル曲「RISKA」はフレンチ・ジャズというか映画の一シーンのよう。｢リスカの磁界｣では日常のノイズの中に声が砕けて溶けていく儚さ。ヴィブラフォンと多重の声が閃く「フラッシュバック」には、ほんとうにハッとさせられる。
このアルバムにはページをめくるように独特の時間の流れが作りだされています。
アコースティックな楽器演奏やシャワーの水音、電話のベル、チャットといった現実音が混ざり合い、それにコンピュータ・エレクトロニクスとで、紡ぎあげられたフルカラーの世界。
絹の羽音のような響きにただ心地よく身をまかせていればいい。
でもこれはお伽話のようじゃありません。
聴く度にいろんなイマジネーションを喚起させられるアルバムだ。
繊細で優しい｢RISKA｣の眼差しがまるで浮かんでいるかのように。

アルバムの世界観を鏡のように映し出したジャケットの素晴らしさも、一筆にあたいする。

マリンバやヴィブラフォンといった打楽器、コントラバス、トランペットなどの演奏に、HACOの吐息のような歌声とコーラスが絶妙なバランスでのっている。シャワー、電話ベル、チャットなどの日常的な音がエレクトロニクスとも混ざって、淡い色彩のドラマが構築されている。柔らかな絹糸で紡がれたような音触り。映画のシーンが繋がっているような時間の流れを感じさせるアルバム。聴く度にいろんなイマジネーションを喚起させられる傑作！
