約１年２ヶ月ぶりとなる４作目のシングル。本作にもプロモーション
映像を収録したＤＶＤが同梱されている。

新曲「覚醒ビスク・ドール」は今までの作品同様、独特の世界観が伺
えるが、その演出度が少し控えめになりオーソドックスな曲構成にな
ったように思える。そういった意味では、より無難にまとめている。
２曲目の「置き去りの肖像画」も曲調は類似している。
音質は前作同様、水準を満たしたサウンドとなる。
同梱のＤＶＤは、覚醒ビスク・ドールのプロモーション映像を収録。
収録時間は６分でリニアＰＣＭ形式、前作にあったタイトルメニュ
ー画面は省略されている。
映像も音楽同様、デフォルメの少ない演出である。白を基調とした
シンプルな演出が、かえって清水愛の良さを引き出しているように
思える。今までのように、個性を強調した映像を観てきた方には少
し新鮮な印象を受けることだろう。

独特の音楽性と映像で魅せる清水愛ちゃんのDVD付きマキシの第4弾、今作はアニソン界のヒットメーカーの畑亜紀さんと根本由香利さんの強力タッグの力作だ! 絶対の喋ったり、動いたりすることのないビスクドールが愛する自分の主人へ芽生えた気持ちや強い愛欲…でも自分は… と、曲が進んでいくにつれその想いは強くなる様を歌いあげている。 曲全体は打ち込みやシンセサウンドが中心だが、ソプラノサックスの音がとてもいい味を出しているし、サビのハモリも心地よい。 聴き込むほどにこの曲よさがわかる。 DVDのPVの方は今までよりシンプルな作りになっていて、全体的に白が基調になっているのだが、愛ちゃんの持っている赤い花がとても印象的。 ジャケ写もお人形のように本当に可愛い愛ちゃんがとても素敵だ。
