アラン・パーソンズ・プロジェクトの最新リマスターシリーズ、
「イヴの肖像」「アンモニア・アヴェニュー」「ガウディ」
残りの３枚がリリースされ、いよいよ全作品完結します。
１９８７年発表のこのアルバム「ガウディ」は、ＡＰＰ最後の作品です。
前作「ステレオトミー」から、それまでのポップロック路線を方向転換し、
再び初期のプログレ色を打ち出していました。
この「ガウディ」もプログレ色が強く、一世風靡したウルフソンのポップロックは聴かれません。
しかし、「ステレオトミー」で一旦消えたウルフソンの声も、「ガウディ」では少なからず復活しています。
ポップロック路線のウルフソンとプログレ重視のアラン・パーソンズの確執が強まってか、
その後、二人は活動を別にすることになります。
さて「ガウディ」は、文字どおり、バルセロナの建築家アントニオ・ガウディをテーマにした作品で、
聖家族教会（サグラダ・ファミリア）のことも歌われています。

アランパーソンズ”プロジェクト”としての最後の作品。
彼らの作品は２１世紀の今聞いても古さを感じさせません。
ボーカルナンバーは勿論秀作ぞろいですが、インストルメンツナンバーは
数々のＴＶ番組でＢＧＭとして、今でも使われ続けています。
「あれ、この曲聞いたことあるぞ。」というものがあるはず。
彼らの作品は、若い世代にもぜひ聞いていもらいたいです。
