【アーティストについて】
本名=タリブ・ジョンソン。フィラデルフィア出身。「フィリーの伝統を受け継ぐファンクソウルの申し子」と称され、「21世紀のスティーヴィー・ワンダーに一番近い存在」とも評されるニュー・フィリー・ソウルの第一人者。2000年にOST『ナッティ・プロフェッサー・クランプ家の面々』に収録され、大ヒットとなった「ジャスト・フレンズ」でデビュー。その「ジャスト・フレンズ」も収録した1stアルバム『アイジャスウォナシング』からは名バラード「ラヴ」も誕生し、第44回グラミー賞の最優秀男性R&Bアーティスト部門にノミネートされ、ソウル・トレイン・アワーズではベスト・R&B/ソウル・アルバム賞を受賞、またSOURCE誌のR&Bアーティスト・オブ・ジ・イヤーにも選ばれた。2002年の2ndアルバム『ジャスリスン』からは「ハーフクレイジー」がヒット、全米アルバム・チャートで初登場1位を記録した他、2作連続のミリオン・セールスを記録。2003年には3rdアルバム『ソウルスター』をリリース。「Forthenight」が第46回グラミー賞の最優秀アーバン/オルタナティヴ・パフォーマンス部門にノミネート。翌年の第47回グラミー賞でもジミ・ヘン・トリビュート・アルバム『Power Of Soul: A Tribute To Jimi Hendrix /Various Artists』(Experience Hendrix社から発売)に収録の「Are You Experienced?」が最優秀アーバン/オルタナティヴ・パフォーマンス部門にノミネートされるなど、彼の音楽性は高い評価を得ており、2005年11月には初来日公演も実現するなど日本でも絶大な支持を集める人気アーティストである。

2001年のデビュー以来、年に一枚のペースで作品をリリースしてきたmusiq。
前作から4年というブランクを経て届いた今作ですが、これがまたしても傑作!
製作陣に新しい顔ぶれが加わったことで、サウンド面でも新鮮な試みを感じます。
綺麗なメロディと強いビート、そして真っ直ぐな歌声・・・もう完璧です!
