タイトル通り、メタリックな質感が強まった他、10分を越える１をはじめ、長尺の楽曲も揃え、ツイン・ギターも大フィーチャーされている。

ただし、メンバーの世代的なものだと思うが、メロディック・デス〜メタルコアというより、スラッシュ・メタルに由来する部分の方が大きい。マシン・ヘッド流の"Masters Of Puppets"と例えると誤解を招きそうだけど、狙いはそんなところにあったんじゃないかと思う。

聴き所はギターだね。相当時間をかけて練ったと思われるが、ソロは攻撃的で煽情性もあるし、楽しめる。

1、6、7、8と収録曲の半分が10分前後の大作である事から、冗長な仕上がりではないかと、警戒される向きもあるかと思うが、それはないのでご安心を。全編、高いテンションを維持した高品質のメタル・アルバムです。

日本盤ボーナス・トラックであるメタリカのカヴァーは…それほど真剣にレコーディングしたものではないと思う。プロダクション、演奏共にアルバム本編に劣る。

彼らのアルバムは、恥ずかしながら初めて拝聴したのですが、
一発でノックアウトされました。

なによりも、一発目の曲で作品は左右されると思っているのですが、
その意味でも沸点超過、正に凄まじい出だしに圧倒されます。また、
構成も含めて、一本ピシッと筋を通されているかのように、練りに
練られた作品であり、冗長とは無縁の、緊張感に満ちた名品に仕上がって
おります。あまりの密度に、疲れてしまいそうな位、スゴイアルバムでは
ないでしょうか。

ボーナスのBATTERY、個人的には楽しめました。ある意味、METALLICAの
MASTER OF PUPPETS並の緊張感のある作品と評価してもし過ぎではない
と思います。２００７年のメタルアルバムの中でもトップクラスの作品
だと思います。

個人的に前作は前作で好きだったが、今作は前作を越えている。10分近い曲、短い曲は皆無。その分曲数もカットされている。聴き飽きることないカッコいいメタルを堪能することが出来、理屈抜きでヘヴィメタルの素晴らしさを再確認させてくれた一枚。
