"高柳はACTION DIRECTをはじめる前の年の1984年一人だけのノイジックパフォーマンス「メタ・インプロビゼーション」の活動を開始した。1983年~1984年は、NEW DIRECTON UNITの最終期で、テープの他にモーターを多用した。モーターは机に固定したものではなく、コイル部分を手で掴まえ、回転軸をギターの弦に押しつける形で演奏している。 本作でも金属製の定規やチェーン、ハンマー、ペインティングナイフの他にモーター奏と思われる音が確認できる。 通常、ジャズプレイヤーが、詩人と共演した場合はには、詩に合わせた伴奏的なものになり主導権はあくまで朗読になる場合が多い。しかしここでの高柳は、破壊的だ。強調など無縁の高柳のモーターが情け容赦なく吉増に襲いかかる。「死人」の他に吉増の代表作の「古代天文台」「オシリス石の神」を収録。吉増の詩と高柳のギターは衝突したり、お互い飛ばされたりし、凄まじい緊張感。最後の一音まで気が抜けない、恐ろしいセッションだ。"
