Album Details

Timbaland is already acknowledged as one of music's most inventive and distinctive creators. Yet the artist/producer's forthcoming album, just his second solo album, promises to shock the world. Timbaland Presents Shock Value (Mosley Music Group/Blackground/Interscope) is set for release April 3, 2007. The first single, 'Give It To Me,' featuring Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado. 'My mission is to blow up the boundaries and tear down the limits,' says Timbaland. I'm taking my music outside of the box. I'm not getting away from what I'm known for; I'm just going to a place where it's all about the music, not about the labels on the music. That's why I call it Shock Value--from the artists to the production, it will shock the system. Guests include Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtadio, Jay-Z, Fall Out Boy, Nicole Scherzinger (PCD), Snoop Dogg, Lil' Wayne, Twista, She Wants Revenge, The Hives, Keri Hilson, Elton John and more. 90年代後半、AariyahやGinuwineにヒット曲を提供し出したあたりから名が知れ渡り、その後もMissy Elliottと二人三脚で活動し、トッププロデューサーへの道を駆け昇ったTimbaland。2006年にはJustin TimberlakeとNelly Furtadoの新作アルバムのトータルプロデュースを務め、ともに記録的セールスを記録。一躍時の人となりました。

そんな時代の先を行く奇才プロデューサーが自己名義でアルバムを発表。アルバムにはDr.Dre、Elton John、Missy Elliott、50 Cent、Justin Timberlake、Nelly Furtado、Fall Out Boy、Magoo、Nicole Scherzingerなど豪華ゲスト勢が参加。先行シングル『Give It To Me』はJustin TimberlakeとNelly Furtadoを迎えた強力トラック。Nellyのパートが多く、Justinの印象が薄めな楽曲ですが、地味ながらも独特のリズムとサウンドはクセになること請け合いです。アルバムは全体的にダークなトーンで統一されており、彼の得意とする怪しげで毒のあるビートが全開。全てを同一人物が手がけたとは思えないほど一曲一曲が異なる顔をみせます。変態ビートの効いたアグレッシヴなものからメロディアス系統まで幅広く収録。『Fantasy』『Time』『Apologize』がおすすめ。

サウンドクオリティの高さや新しさを追求する姿勢は流石。もちろん今作は彼のキャリアにおいて重要な意味をもつ作品で、今作からカットされた曲はどれも当然の如くヒットするでしょうが、このアルバムは彼にとって通過点に過ぎないと思います。Timbalandのトッププロデューサーとしての余裕と風格を感じられる作品です。

このアルバムでTimbalandを知りました。

参加してるｱｰﾃｨｽﾄに、お気に入りが沢山いて豪華!!って思ったのが購入のキッカケ。

ほんと、素晴らしい作品♪
色んな人に教えてあげたくなるくらい!!

一番のお気に入りは「Apologize」何度聞いても飽きなくて、通勤中コノ曲のリピ率高いです。

他にも「Time」「2 Man Show」などなど聴き応えありです!!

かっこいい!!

の次元を超えてると思います。

評価☆5。この数字に偽り無しです。

洋楽は聴くけれども無知だった私。
ティンバランド？何、アウトドア系のメーカー？
位の白痴だったんですが、時折PVで見かける太った男性に釘付け。それがかの天才
プロデューサーだった訳です。

凄いのはとにかく捨てる曲が皆無な点。
ジャスティン初め有名どころからそうでない人までフィーチャーされてますがどれ
一つとして外れが無い。
個人的にはケリ・ヒルソンの曲とハイヴスの「THROW IT ON ME」、多くの方が推薦されて
いる「APOLOGIZE」が好み。
春からもう聴きっ放しだけれども飽きることが無い。
ナイナイ尽くしのShock Valueを是非。後悔させません。
