エリオット・ヤミン、アメリカンアイドル・シーズン５で回を増すごとに輝きを増し、歌のうまさ、選曲の良さともに抜群で、人柄の良さや愛情にあふれ、音程も完璧なソウルフルな歌声には、辛口審査員のサイモンも「アメリカンアイドル史上最高の男性ヴォーカリスト」「Vocal Masterclass｣と大絶賛。ポーラ・アブドゥルも感動して涙。毎回難易度の高い歌を感情豊かに歌いこなし、特に、エルビス・プレスリーの曲の回では、2曲ともすごく良くて、感涙ものでした。16歳で1型糖尿病を発症し、インスリンポンプを身につけながら闘病していたり、右耳が殆ど聞こえないということなど、ハンディキャップに打ち勝って活躍していることも有名ですが、ママ思いであったり、美人モデルのガールフレンドがいたり、デビュー前に歯並びを矯正して髪型もカーリーに変わってしまうなど、微笑ましい面もあったりします。待望のファーストアルバムは、期待を裏切らない名作で、いい曲ばかりで数ヶ月間ヘビーローテしていて全曲口ずさめます。アマゾンのコメント数が断トツ一位なことからも、きっとシーズン５の中では、日本で一番人気はエリオットなのではないでしょうか。日本でライブしてほしいです。Wait for youが1stシングルで、one wordが2ndシングルです。movin' on, find a way, train wreck, freeもとてもいい曲です。このアルバムのほかにも、アメリカン・アイドル・シーズン５コンピ収録の"moody's mood for love", 2007年限定クリスマスアルバムの"this christmas", "the christmas song"も素敵です。

エリオットの豊かな歌声が、このアルバムで輝いてます。
全体的にR＆B色が強いですが、曲も素晴らしいものばかりです。
（ダニー・ハサウェイの”A Song For You”カバー曲も収録）
リラックスしたい時、元気をもらいたい時、気分がちょっと落ち込んでいる時etc...
彼の歌声を聴いて欲しいです。
アメリカン・アイドルを知ってる方にも知らない方にも、オススメできる1枚。
是非、皆さんに聴いてもらいたい新人歌手です！

Elliott Yamin has such a beautiful tone and a great range. It is a voice that makes you want to sing and one that stays with you. He finds the right pitch and the right note to show his talent, his passion, and his vulnerability. I think he'll go far and I hope so because he seems like a decent and genuine person.
