4.0 out of 5 stars 音質が一番良く推薦できる、メーカーの功績大, 2007/7/24
ＥＬＰのＣＤは国内外問わず、ゴタゴタといろんな形で多くリリースされており混乱してしまう。そのほとんどが既発のマテリアルから使い回しで、全て追っかけるとすればＥＬＰの超マニアだけであろう。オリジナル、ライヴ、ベスト盤と発売レーベルが幾度か変わって出されたが、どれもあまり音質が向上してると感じなかった。自分自身はライノからのがいいかなと思っていた。

そんな中忽然とリリースされたこのベスト盤だが、過去のものの中で高音質だと思う。ジャケットも白地ですっきりしており好感が持てる。正直ＥＬＰに限らずだいたい洋楽のリイシューものはアメリカとかヨーロッパに負けるのがオチだがこれは違う。ライノ盤他よりはるかに凌いでいる。ビクターには何かしらアワードを受けてしかるべきだろう。

と褒めましたが星４つなのは選曲である。あれこれ考えて編んだのはうかがえるが、ややハンパな印象だ。「悪の聖典」（切れてない・続いていない！）や「庶民のファンファーレ」はエディットヴァージョンにして「セラヴィ」や「フロム・ザ・ビギニング」、「アフェアーズ・オブ・ザ・ハート」あたりは入れて欲しかった。ライヴ音源は敢えてオミットしたのだろうが「ピーター・ガン」も欲しいところだ。いろいろ言い出したらキリはないけれど…。

あとＥＬＰの『Ｋ２ＨＤ』シリーズのオリジナル盤を通常パッケージで再発して欲しい。
それと同社で同シリーズでトッド・ラングレンもリリースしているがＥＬＰのものより音質が劣るのはどうしてだろうか？ぜひ善処願いたいところです。
