二人の女性作詞家が担当したことで、
これまでと比べて状況設定を考えてから歌詞を書いたのかな、
と思うものが増えました。
相手を思う感情を好きなまま伸び伸びと歌っている歌手の魅力から
抑えを効かせ大人びた雰囲気をきちんと伝えられるようになる過程の作品。

ボーナストラックとして収録された楽曲はシングル「万華鏡」のような
気持ちが崩れてゆく様を表現したものが優れています。
また、ストリングスを用いた展開がスリリングな「砂の伝説」など
スケールの大きなアレンジを施していることも特徴として挙げられるでしょう。

逆にデビュー当時の曲なのではないかと思わせる
（あどけない歌い方も出来なくなった訳ではない）「時の女神」、
彼さえいれば海外など行かなくてもいい、
借りた海小屋で嵐の夜愛し合った今年の夏は忘れないでしょうと歌う
タイトルそのままの（ただし収録曲内だと一番伸び伸びとした
ハイトーンが聞けることにも注目すべき）、
「夏に抱かれて」は楽曲群に於いて浮いています。

このアルバムは、恋愛している、及び失恋してしまった女性達の心情を、濃厚に表現した力作です。 また、ヒロリンのオリジナルアルバムの中では、唯一シングル曲が収録されていないアルバムでもあります。 楽曲を聴いてもらえればわかりますが、ヒロリンは10人それぞれの女性像を、感情を込めて歌い分けており、非常に聴き応えがあります。(曲によっては、歌詞の内容にギクッとさせられる男性も多いのでは!?) 本編のなかでお気に入りは、ヨーロッパの香りがする「東京ーパリ」、男女のリアルな別離を綴った「テーブルの下」、別れた恋人とヨリを戻したい健気な女性の心情を表した「微笑の翳り」です。 ボーナストラックは、この頃にリリースされたシングル「万華鏡」「夏に抱かれて」(B面の曲も含む)のほかに、ライブアルバム「ライブ&モア」に収録されていた、スタジオ録音曲である「砂の伝説」と「時の女神」が聴けます。 感想としては、アルバムのコンセプト通り、「愛をテーマに、その光と影を歌い上げる意欲作」となっていますので、是非聴いてみて下さい。 尚、このあたりから、ヒロリンのリリースするシングル・アルバムは次第に大人びていき、アイドル歌手から大人の実力派歌手へとシフトしていきます。
