新垣さんの歌声は、魂に響きます！！
「千の風になって」に於いても詩を噛み締めて聴く事ができます。
心が洗われるという言葉がありますが、新垣さんの声を聴くと「血がキレイになる」という感じです。
今は亡き母と一度ライブで聴きたかったです。

まず、ジャケット写真がすばらしい。新垣さんには、ふるさと沖縄の自然の中での、心から開放されたような姿が、とてもよく似合う。
選曲も「愛燦燦」や、新録音「さとうきび畑」、そして“オンリー・ワン”―某ヒット曲が発売される何年も前から、新垣さんはこのフレーズを口にしていた―の名唱であり、各ダウンロードチャートで上位にランクインした「千の風になって」（ここで初出のライヴ・ヴァージョンも必聴です！）など、重要なところはしっかり押さえてあるけれども、決して新垣さんの「すべて」ではなく、もっと聴きたくなるのは必定、という、実に心憎いもの。
「千の風」で新垣さんのことを知ったという方や、まだ１枚も持っていない方に、入門編としてぜひおすすめしたいアルバム。

壮絶な半生―ビクター公式HP内の「プロフィール」を参照。試聴もできます―を超えてきた、新垣さんだけにしか歌えない“魂の歌”の数々に、ぜひ触れてみてください。

元の録音が悪いのか、マスタリングが酷いのか、とにかく音質が良くありません。
硬い上に厚みも無く、しかもダイナミックレンジも狭い。これ程酷い物も珍しい。
昔の歌謡曲やリマスタリングされた50,60年代のジャズのＣＤの方が遥かに音が良い。
Ｋ２Super Cording や XRCD、ルビジウム・カッティング等、優れた音質のＣＤを作れる筈のビクターが何故これ程音質の悪いものを出すのか？！

しかし、それを差し引いてもなお、新垣さんの歌声は胸にぐんぐん迫ってきます。素晴らしいの一語に尽きます。星三つは決して彼の歌唱力に対してではありません。並みの歌唱なら星一つです。
それだけに本当に惜しい！
ビクターは新垣さんと彼のファンを裏切った！
