まぁ「タイガースに対抗するには“ライオンズ”で行くしかねぇべ」とか（結果、大失敗…。）、失神あり不協和音あり、タイツがありならスカートもありだろうみたいな感じで、紅白に出られたのは結局ブルコメだけだったものの、多い時には100前後の“ザ・ナントカズ”がデビューしウヨウヨしていたらしく、恐るべしGSブームである。
この４枚組では“GSの起源”とされるスパイダースの「フリフリ」―スパは17曲収録―からブーム末期までにリリースされたシングルの中から発売順に100曲（Ｂ面曲含む）、Ａ級Ｂ級カルトGSも含め、一気に聴けてしまう。「青い瞳（日本語）」「想い出の渚」はモノラル。「青空のある限り」はオーケストラなし。「バン・バン・バン」は冒頭のカウントなし。「ケメ子の歌」はザ・ダーツ版。「草原の輝き」はいわゆる“CBSバージョン（冒頭ドラムスなし）”。「ガラスの聖女」は琴なし。「雨よふらないで」はハープなし。といった具合にシングル・バージョンにこだわっているため、ダイナマイツ「トンネル天国／恋はもうたくさん」は残念ながらシングル・テイクでの収録（とりあえず『昭和元禄トーキョーガレージ』で補完を）。もし個人的に追加したい楽曲があるとすれば、タイガース「廃墟の鳩」「都会」、ワンズ「夕陽と共に」「あの人」、カップス「銀色のグラス」あたりか。
ブックレット２冊に全曲の歌詞、および解説（中村俊夫氏）つき。収録曲のうち、およそ半分弱のシングル・ジャケットをカラーで掲載。
アートワークは、映画『GSワンダーランド』のサウンド・ディレクションや主題歌マキシ「海岸線のホテル(DVD付)」のジャケットなども手がけた、元ファントムギフトのサリー久保田氏が担当している。
それにしても、通しで５時間弱。これだけあればもー満腹。ある一定の年齢層の方へのプレゼントにも最適。直撃世代も後追い世代も、これもらって悪い気はしないですよ。

ＧＳ１００曲。ヒット曲はもちろんのこと怪しげなオカルト曲まで話題作はほとんど入っています。いや〜懐かしいですよ・・・
