Fonodaはドイツ出身のバンドで、ポストロック的轟音有り、エモいヴォーカル有り、スロウコア的な部分有りのバンドです。

轟音はそれほど大きくもないし、多用もされないのです。しかしギターエフェクターを個性的に使ったか、シンセを使った独特のノイズが聴かれ、なかなかの聞き所です。それにエモいヴォーカルが重なり、堪らない人には堪らないサウンドでしょう。

全体的に悲哀に満ちており、枯れている部分もあります。そのつぶやきのようなヴォーカルには、スロウコア的資質も感じます（特に＃３）。シンセ、ピアノ、ホーンなどもバッキングに使われ、要所要所でいい働きをしています。

聞き所は先に挙げたスロウコア的な＃３、ギターノイズをバックに悲哀の叫びが炸裂する＃５、スロウコア・サウンドから轟音ギターが入ってくるエモい終曲＃８あたりが聞き所でしょうか。

様々な現代のバンドサウンドのいいとこ取りをしたようなアルバムで、なかなか聴き応えがあります。とにかく轟音を、と言う向きにはやや消化不足かも知れませんが、ヴォーカル入りのポストロックを求める向きにはかなりお勧めです。
