このアルバムはかなりグレートな一枚だわ。

KREATOR、SODOMと並ぶベテラン・ジャーマン・スラッシャーによる現ラインナップでのセルフ・カヴァー作品で、全曲リ・レコーディングされている逸品中の逸品。

マイクによるジリジリとした質感のせわしないリフ、マーク・レインによるタイトでアタッキーなリズム、そしてそこに乗るシュミーアのヒステリックなシャウト。そしてヤコブ・ハンセン（INVOCATOR）のミックスによる現代的な音造りで、よりメタリックに生まれ変わったDESTRUCTION節が全編で炸裂。

スラッシュ好きは必携の一枚。
新曲も２曲追加されており、旧作品を持っていても買う価値は十分にある。

ドイツのベテランスラッシュメタルバンド、デストラクションのアルバム。
80年代、SODOM、KREATORとともにジャーマンスラッシュ三羽ガラスと呼ばれていた。
一度はシュミーアの脱退などもあり、活動を停止していたが、2000年に復活。
これは彼らの初期作を中心とした楽曲を現メンバーで再録したアルバム。
熱きスラッシュ魂そのままの演奏で、かつての名曲たちが蘇る。ザクザクのギターリフに、ときに個性的な複雑さを垣間見せつつ疾走するサウンドは、
攻撃的でありつつも、やはりどこか知性的な構成力を感じさせる。
とくに彼らの代表曲、“Release from Agony”“Curse the Gods”あたりは、オールド・スラッシャーは感涙。

初めてDESTRUCTIONを聴くのでベスト的なこのCDを購入したところ、かなり自分好みでビックリしました。同じジャーマントリオバンドのソドムに負けてないです。
久しくメタルから離れていた私ですが、この一枚でまた火が点きました…。
