【アーティストについて】
2002年韓国を代表するK-POPヒットメーカー、J.Y.パークのプロデュースによるアルバム『n001』でデビュー。年末の各新人賞を総なめにした。2003年、セカンド・アルバム『rain2』をリリースし、この年も年末の最高歌手賞を総なめにした。アルバムリリースとほぼ同時に放送された主演ドラマ「サンドゥ、学校へ行こう!」もヒットし、幅広いファン層を獲得。2004年、主演2作目となるドラマ「フルハウス」でクールなキャラクターを演じ最高視聴率44%を記録、演技力に太鼓判が押された作品となった。2004年10月にはサード・アルバム『IT'S RAINING』をリリース。
2004年11月にて行われた、文化庁主催のポップアジア2004出演を皮切りに日本での活動をスタート。このアルバムで、ついに年末の歌謡大賞を受賞、名実ともに韓国No1シンガーの座に。そして、満を持して2005年2月16日アルバム『IT'S RAINING』で日本CDデビュー。その後アジア各国で同じく『IT'S RAINING』でデビュー、軒並みチャートの首位を独占した。日本では東京国際フォーラム2DAYS&大阪厚生年金会館2DAYSのファーストツアーを行い、9月にはその追加公演として、韓国人アーティストとしては初となる武道館2DAYSを成功させ、圧倒的な存在感とアーティストとしてのポテンシャルの高さををアピールした。そのチケットは、いずれも即完売しプラチナチケット化した。
また、最新主演ドラマ『ろくでなしの愛』(韓国KBS)も年末からON AIRされ俳優としての人気の高さもあらためて実証した。
2006年に入ると、1月25日に待望の日本語シングル第1弾となる『Sad Tango』をリリース。本格的に日本での活動がスタート。
12月には日本では発売されていなかった4枚目のアルバム『RAIN'S WORLD』が発売。2007年はワールドツアーをスタートさせており、今なお精力的に活動しています。

このファーストアルバムのＲＡＩＮは、
痛々しいほどハングリーな感じです。

少年のようだったり、
大人っぽかったり、
未知の可能性を秘めつつ、
ハラハラするような
荒々しさを感じる刹那があります。

この後、歌手として、俳優として、
堂々たる活躍をすることになるとは！！

アルバムとしての完成度は高く、
聞き飽きません。

このアルバムはRainの原点です。デビューとはとても思えないほどの完成度の高さです。以前、プロデューサーさんがRainのことを飢えたタイガーと言っていましたが、Rainの真剣さが痛々しいくらい伝わってきます。声は若いですが、歌は上手で聞きごたえはあります。Rainのことを好きな方にお勧めします。
