ギターの細野さんが外れ、クインテッドからカルテットに変わりましたので、表現力がどうなったのか心配していましたが、そんな心配を吹き飛ばしてしまう内容でした。ピアノの北島さんとのセッションがよりパワフルになりました。新しい寺井ワールドがそこにはあります。

情熱的なタンゴで始まるあたりは、ここ最近の流れでしょうか。「ブルーボレロ」あたりで、優雅なボールルームダンスが浮かぶようです。優雅な北島作曲の「ハッピー・ディキシーランド」は、がんばれニューオーリンズっていう感情が込められた美しい旋律の一曲。ライブでも最後のほうに聞かせてくれる「ホワット・ゲーム・シャル・ウィ・プレイ・トゥディ」はリズムのいい仕上がりです。

ここ数年のメンバーが変わり心配したのですが、より寺井尚子のヴァイオリンが冴え、北島直樹のピアノが響くすばらしい仕上がりの一枚になったような気がします。
