元アウトキャスト、
「和モノ」ロックファンの間で有名な
水谷公生のリーダーアルバム。

全インストです。
ギター、ドラム、ベースを基本にした
オーソドックスな編成。
サイケあり、まったりあり、
ノイジーあり、一曲ごとにどんどん変わります。
思った以上に聞きやすかったです。

いい意味で「下品」なファズ全開のギターが堪能できます。

シンプルな編成のインストロックで

ジャンル的には
チックコリアの初期リターントゥフォーエバーなんかに近いんじゃないかと思うけど
ギターのメロディがなんだかとても日本的なメロディで根本的に違う気がするし
こっちの方がかなりフリージャズ的な要素、フリーキーな要素がぶちこんであって
よりマニアック
よりヘビー
よりノイジー

好き嫌いは別れるかもしれないけど
僕はなかなかよかったですよ

70年代日本の主要なロックアルバムに参加したソロアーティストであり、ギター神である水谷公生の唯一のアルバム、「A PATH THROUGH HAZE」です。内容はジャズです。全体的にはおとなしいアルバムですが、曲ごとに聴いてみると、いいギターサウンドがいっぱい詰まったアルバムです。この時代のロックを知る上では重要な作品です。この時代、ロックとジャズの境界線が曖昧だったのでしょう。両者とも時代を突き破る、という意識で結束し、そして限界まで突き進もうとしたのでしょう。その先駆者達の足跡のひとつがこのアルバムなのです。手に入るうちに確実に入手しましょう。
