19歳の天才シンガー・ソングライター、パオロ・ヌティーニ。端正な顔立ちに19歳とは思えぬ、味のあるスモーキー・ヴォイスを武器に、1stシングル「Last Request」がUKシングル・チャートで最高第5位。デビュー・アルバム『These Streets』がUKアルバム・チャートで初登場第3位。アルバムは6週間連続TOP10圏内、3月連続TOP20圏内をキープというロング・セラーを記録し、イギリス国内ですでに60万枚のセールスを突破している新人アーティスト。出身はスコットランドで、地元でローディーなどの仕事をしていたところ、某アーティストのライヴの時間調整役としてステージに立つ機会があり、その時のパフォーマンスが評判になり、18歳でアトランティックとの契約を結んだ。ポール・ウェラーやローリング・ストーンズのサポート・アクト、ケイティー・タンストールとの共演も話題を呼び、本格派シンガーソングライターとしてのキャリアを積み重ねている。

アルバムに収録されている多くの曲、例えば「LAST REQUEST」や「REWIND」はガールフレンドとの混乱にかき回された関係からインスパイアされたものであり、「JENNY DON'T BE HASTY」は実際に彼が遭遇した年上の女性とのことに基づいた曲である。

なんとなく立ち寄って視聴したCDだったのに、ジャケットのイメージとは全くかけ離れたあの声に魅了されました。
20歳とは思えないあの独特の声と音楽にすっかりはまってしまいました。
