アルバムの最初からゆったりと至福の時間が流れます。音楽に浸ってしまう何ともハッピーな気分になります。演奏者の、このアルバムのプロデューサーとしての宮本文昭の心が伝わります。贅沢で優雅で、気品があって・・・・言葉をいくら並べても的確には表現できません。音楽に出会えて良かったという最高の気分になります。
何で☆４つ？　　これは音楽の好みの問題で最後の方が☆一つ引いてしまったのかな？

宮本文昭の特徴は限りなく甘くて美しい音色にあります。クラシックもジャズも自由自在に奏でる技術は勿論ですが、オーボエの音を聴いて奏者を判別できるのも彼の個性が卓越していることに他なりません。ロングトーンの美しい響きは、心底感銘を覚えるほどです。

連続テレビ小説「あすか」のテーマ曲「風笛」のオーボエの音色の美しさは言葉にできないほどです。過去にこれほど芳醇で魅惑的なオーボエは聴いたことがありません。透明で、伸びやかで、爽やかで、ハートフルで・・・・・。大島ミチルの音楽と共に幸せな時間を過ごしています。

タイスの瞑想曲を原曲とした「メディテイション」は、ＪＴのＣＭ曲に使用され、宮本が格好よく立ちながらオーボエ吹く様が印象的でした。
アンサンブル・プラネタを世に出した書上奈朋子による「心は言葉をこえて」もいいですね。ラフマニノフのヴォカリーズのアレンジで、オーボエの多重録音が新しい音楽の地平を切り開いています。

和（ジャポネスク）をイメージした「薄羽蜻蛉」、冒頭のブルガリアン・ボイスが印象的な「Magic in the Air」、娘のヴァイオリニスト宮本笑里との共演「Smile for Her」等、ベスト・アルバムに相応しい選曲です。

木管楽器の中で比較的地味な印象を持つオーボエをクラシックファンだけでなく、ジャズファンや一般的な音楽ファンにまで広めた功績は計り知れません。引退は本当に残念です。

オーボエを世間に浸透させた「風笛」に始まり
しみじみと宮本文昭を回想するＣＤです。

宮本文昭の甘く、切なく、どこか懐かしげな、まさにオーボエの
イメージにマッチしたサウンドに魅了され続けます。

個人的にはクラシック系のトラックが少なめなのが少少残念ですが
買って損は絶対にありません。彼のオーボエ奏者としてのピリオドを
肌で、耳で、五感で感じ取ってください。
