根底にあるものは変わってないと感じました。
ただ、PIMP MASTERなどに顕著に見られた、SOIL独特のパンクロックJAZZというか、そういうものは息を潜めてます。それは悪いことではなく、アルバムを一つの作品と捉えれば、全体的なバランスが取れているかと。マクロケとマシロケ。このバンドはほんと白黒が好きなんですかね？何かしらの哲学があるのか、ただなんとなくなのか、非常に気になります。
これまでSOILはJAZZでないとちょくちょく言われてますが、このアルバムでそういう方々の偏見が変わるのでは？新しいモノ・革新的な音は批判されやすいものです。このアルバムには伝統的なJAZZの雰囲気も感じられ、混在していてアンバランスですが、バランス取れてます。
パンクなSOILが好みの方には、ちょっと違和感あると思いますが、是非聴いてみてください。
評価というものは得てして期間を経て得るものです。何度か聞くうちに、伝統的なJAZZにもハマッてるかもしれませんよ？

俺は今までの中ではは一番好きです。特に1曲目DAWNや5曲目WE WANT MORE。 DAWNはサックスが雅楽器の様な響きをする辺りに何とも言い難い力を感じたり…しかし聴き増して行くと8曲目HYPE OF GOLD ・ 13曲目SCALESがヘビーローテになってきて…耳障りの良さ・心地良さに『俺も歳喰ったんかなぁ…』としみじみしてしまいます。とにかくインスト系やジャズ系好きな方・目先を変えた音質が楽しくオススメです。
