　DFAの代表であるJames Murphyによるprojectで、今回は2nd。
　リリースはもちろんDFA/emiから。

　音はもちろんnew wave post/disco punkで、テンション高くまくし立てるjamesを差し引いても、全体的にノリノリでフロアに打って付けのダンスミュージックです。
　汗臭さ、ツバとか飛びまくり、ヒゲとかとにかく体から分泌されるあらゆる体液が飛び散りそうな、えげつない感じ。

　タイトにハイハットやバス・スネアを鳴らすdr.と、地面を這い回る爬虫類のように不穏になるベースが作り出すグルーブは、日常の風景をダンスフロアに変えてしまいます。
　James Murphyの煽るようなマイクパフォーマンスは、脳幹に思いっきりガーンと来てもう腰を振らずにはいられないのです。

　とはいえtr.8ではelectro techno、tr.9ではoldies sweetなんかもやっていたりしてやはり匠な感じ。

ファーストインプレッションは”単調”。
人によってはそれで終わってしまうアルバムかもしれない。


同じリズムを淡々（単々？）とループし、メロディも抑揚がない。
どこがサビ？って感じな曲が延々と続く。

自分も一度ＣＤラックにしまい込んでました。
ところが。

久々に聴いてみるとこれが結構奥が深い。（のか？）
別段演奏やリズム・メロディに凝ったところはない。
何度聴き返してもそうだ。

ところが、ランダムで再生すると、なんか新たな味わいが出たというか。
"Someone Great"なんかは愛しいアレンジに聴こえてくるし、
タイトル曲"Sound Of Silver"は意欲作に思えてくる。

いわばコノテの音にしては珍しくジワジワと効いて来る曲達が
多いのである。

でもやっぱり、通しで聴くとTr.1〜Tr.3までの単調さに疲れてくる。

実に不思議なアルバムです。
30秒の試聴でグッと来た方は間違いなく買い。

グッと来られなかった方も!!!好きな方はイケルと思う。

とにもかくにもランダムプレイで楽しむことを是非オススメしたい。

という言い方がしっくりきます。誤解なきように言っておきたいのですが、完成度は高いと思います。このアルバムは4、5分というポップソングとしての制約のなかでやりたい事をやる。という風に僕は受け取ったんですけど、どれも上手くいってると思います。ただ、興奮しないんですよねー。もし予算に余裕があって聞いた事ないんでしたら1stも併せて聞いてみて下さい。僕は断然1stです!
