ブラジル屈指のピアニスト、ドン・サルヴァドールの新録盤。
かってはRIO65TRIOでも競演を重ね、気心の知れたベテラン・ベース奏者セルジオ・バホーゾと、
現在はUSに活動の場所を移し意欲的にリリースを重ねる人気ドラム奏者ドゥドゥカ・ダ・フォンセカを迎えたトリオ作品。

ドン・サルヴァドールのピアノは以前の様なアタックの強さはあまり聴けませんが、知的でクリスプなタッチは健在！さらにはドゥドゥカ・ダ・フォンセカの参加が作品全体を実にバランス良く引き締め、懐古的な焼き直しでは無いモダンなジャズ・サンバを随所で聴く事が出来る。往年のジャズ・サンバファンは勿論、モダン・ジャズ、特にピアノ・トリオ・ファンにはお勧めの実にクオリティの高い一枚。

　1965年発表のドン・サルヴァドールのデビュー作品です。ドン・サルヴァドールはブラジルのピアニストで、この作品はすべてピアノ・トリオでの演奏です。サンバを取り入れた曲や変拍子が多いなど、リズムとしてはちょっと凝っていますが、フレージングやコードの響きは非常にハード・バップに近いものです。頻用される高音域でメロディを奏でるやり方はレッド・ガーランドに似てるなと思いました（和音の使い方はもっと泥臭いですが）。音質はあまりよくないので、それも含めて50年代半ばのジャズを髣髴とさせます。
