【アーティストについて】
1990年にデビュー。デビュー当事は苦戦を強いられたものの、93年からヒット街道を驀進しはじめ、「PRAY」「バック・フォー・グッド」などが全英No.1に輝き、名実共にトップ・グループとして君臨。メンバーのロビー・ウイリアムスの脱退後、96年に解散発表。2005年11月、TVドキュメンタリー番組のために10年ぶりにロビーを除く4人が集結し、再結成を発表。2006年夏には全英ツアーを大成功させた。

Limited Japanese pressing of the UK boy band's 'reunion' album features exclusive artwork, a pocket calendar and two bonus tracks: 'Butterfly' and '6 In The Morning, Fool'. Their first album in over 10 years, Beautiful World reunites four of the five original members including leader/songwriter Gary Barlow (the fifth member, international solo superstar Robbie Williams was invited but graciously declined). 13 tracks including the single 'Patience' Universal. 2007.

"まさか再結成をするとは思わなかった（Robbieは戻らなかったが）。彼らの歌声、特にGaryのは言葉では表せない・・・収録曲全てが良いが、特筆すべきは２と６。どちらもイギリスでヘビロテされてた曲。万人に受け入れられる曲だと思う。個人的には７までと日本ver.限定の曲が好き。イギリスのＳＭＡＰとか言われてるみたいだけど、ＳＭＡＰよりもかっこよくてＳＭＡＰよりも歌が上手い。ＳＭＡＰと比べること自体がナンセンス。（ＳＭＡＰが好きな人、ごめんなさい）"

実は今年になって復活を知りました。
基本的に昔のTTはアイドル化現象してる部分が苦手だったんですが、
ゲイリーのボーカルセンスとソングライティング、若いのにどこか切ない声が出せる所が好きでした。
昔と変わらないディスコテイストなどのチャート意識の曲が並んでると、
残念な復活になるなと感じていたんですが、良いですね。

ゲイリーのヴォーカルはもちろん、マーク、ハワード、ジェイソンも歌ってると思いますが、
メンバー皆“若さ”が程よく抜けた良い声でヴォーカルを披露してくれてる。
曲の展開もポップテイストは変わらないが、昔とは違う大人のテイストを披露してくれてるＴＴを感じます。
ゲイリーはやっぱり上手くてバラード向きの声ですね。

お勧めは、
Reach Out
Like I Never Loved You At All
Shine
Ain’t No Sense In Love
Butterfly
と挙げた他にもゆったりとした暖かい雰囲気のあるアルバムです。

10年前、アイドルグループだった彼等が大好きだったので、ニューアルバムがどうしても聞いてみたくなりました。
当たり前ですが、彼等もすっかり大人になり、曲も声も落ち着いたというのが一番の感想です。
でもそれは悪い意味ではなく、100%良い変化です。
ゲイリーの甘い声も、大人っぽさが加わってますます魅力的。マークとハワードは、声が素敵になったと共に、歌が上手くなってました。ハーモニーも素晴らしい!
心地良いメロディが続くなか、ちょっと遊び心が見えたりもします。
小春日和にドライブしたくなるようなアルバムです。
昔のTAKE THATを知らない方にもオススメです。
