デジタルリマスターによるリリースは２度目だと思うが、
どうして以前に収録していた（リマスター版ではなかったが）
ボーナストラックを収録しないのだろう。それらは現在入手し辛く
オークションにおいてはプレミア価格となっていたりする。
そう考えると紙ジャケットにして再発売しているだけで、
前回のリマスターと比べて何のメリットがあるというのだろうか？
ＣＤが売れなくなったといわれているが、売る側も少しは工夫するべきなのではないか。

ロックの音というものに「至高」という表現をあてはめるなら、私はこのアルバムの音がそれに相応しいものだと思います。

ボウイの、いわゆる「ベルリン３部作」の一作目。
ブライアン・イーノがパートナーとして大活躍し、特に後半（レコードだとＢ面）の冷たい重厚なシンセを基調にした楽曲群は、彼の貢献なくしては生まれ得なかったものでしょう。
ただそれよりも私はＡ面（ＣＤだと１〜７曲目）の、プラスティック・ファンクとでもいうべき独特の質感をもった曲達が大好きで、「スピード・オブ・ライフ」（ＮＨＫ−ＢＳ映画劇場のテーマ曲としても御馴染み）や「サウンド・アンド・ヴィジョン」は自分にとっての『至高の音』です。

後のニューウエーヴやニューロマンティックスといわれるアーティストにも多大な影響を与えているようですが、この作品や次の「ヒーローズ」を今聴くとまざまざと格の違いを感じさせられます。

個人的デビボ史中、モストラブな一枚っす！薬中治療でスティしてた当時テクノ盛り上がりまくりドイツはベルリンで、このひともサイコッ！な天才ア〜ティスト〜、ブライアン・イーノと組んで作った意欲作っす！鬱のはねっ返りを想わせる躁サウンド全面展開なヴォ〜カル曲並びまくりなA面と、これぞヨ〜ロピア〜ンな鬱サウンド目白押しのB面の構成はサイコッ！の一言。メロディア〜スで深みのあるアレンジは、アレンジがスッ軽く成りがちなボウイ作品のアレンジでは白眉ってます！（やっぱイーノ賜物っす！）軋むようなシンセ＆ギターが、あれぃ？な未体験漂いまくり感溢れさせまくりな「Speed Of Life」や軽いポップなのに違う！この子他の子と違う！感溢れる「Be My Wife」ピポピポサウンド全開の躁ダンスナンバー「What In The World」ヨ〜ロピア〜ン専売特許メランコリンな大作「WARSAW」など捨て曲なしのデビボ最高傑作っす！デビボ、サイコサイコサイコッ！！！YEAH!!!!!!
