芥川賞作家・小川洋子の原作をディアーヌ・ベルトラン監督が映画化。不慮の事故で薬指の先端を失ったことをきっかけに、“永遠に遠ざけたいと思う品々”が持ち込まれる標本室で働き始めた女性と、標本作製士の男の密かで奇妙な恋愛模様を描く。

『博士の愛した数式』の小川洋子原作小説を、フレンチロリータと称されるスーパーモデル、オルガ・キュリレンコ主演で映画化!ある日の夏、美しい少女・イリスは不慮の事故で薬指の先端を失ってしまう。そのことがきっかけで仕事を辞め、近隣の港町へ引っ越す。そこで標本技術士の男と出会い、次第に特別な関係が生まれ…。

久しぶりに見た本当に美しい映画。原作は小川洋子だが、映像美は女性監督によって全く別の芸術的なものとなった。フランス語のやりとりに混じるウィスパー系の音楽。雨の音や物が落ちる音。照明も計算され、全てにわたって繊細な感性にあふれている。｢人は自分から遠ざけたいものを標本にする」という｢標本室」を営む男は、実は主人公オルガ・キュリレンコの心そのものなのだろう。いわゆるフレンチ・ロリータ、スーパー・モデルの彼女にピッタリの役柄だ。名優ではないが、他の人では逆にギラついて浮かび上がってしまうだろう。このDVDは買ってもすぐに見ないで、雨の休日など、ゆったりとした時間にご覧下さい。

映画公開日に観に行きましたが、内容の美しさに恍惚としてしまいました。
ランキングを賑わす、昨今流行りの映画のような派手さはありません。しかし、このような映像美で見せる映画はよく評価されて然るべきだと思います。
とにかく映像、音楽ともに美しい映画ですので、ひとりでも多くの方にご覧になっていただきたいです。

美しい。
原作のファンなので、恐る恐る見たのですが、素晴らしいの一言です。
細かい設定は違いますが、空気というか雰囲気を同じくできる映画と小説ってなかなかないと思います。しかも国が違うのに！それぞれの次元で昇華した作品です。

主人公の宿泊する港の荒々しい乱雑さと標本室の静かな美しさ。透明感のある映像がミステリアスな雰囲気を増長します。主人公の危うさと標本技師の視線、絡みつくような美が見る人を虜にします。
