ゆるやかにスタートするオープニングから、ビル･フリーゼルのギターと共に、複雑に揺れ動く日常に踏み込んできてくれる味わい深い一枚です。

はずんだ曲は少ないけれど、枯れて味わい深く、荒涼とした大地を駆け抜けてゆくような大きさもあり、繰り返し聞いてもじわじわと染みて効いてくるような粒よりの曲が配列よく揃っています。

聞き込むほどに声やサウンドが薬草のように効いてきて、不思議な発見もあり、堂々とした輝きがあります。優しいし。

2007年モデルのルシンダは相変わらず気怠く、乾いていて、それでいて艶っぽい。40才になることを恐れている女性の友人がいたら、迷わずこのアルバムを薦めるでしょう。年をとるのは、こんなにもゆたかなことなんだよ、って。カントリーであり、ロックであり、ブルースである。良質の音楽というのは、軽々とジャンルの壁を越えていくということも、このアルバムでわかるでしょう。

８作目のスタジオ盤。
やはり今まで通りというか、期待通りというか、鬱としてふわふわとして乾ききったフォーク・カントリーＴＸな音。
バックの演奏はとにかくめちゃくちゃ美味い。
侘び寂びを心得た猛者たちがLucinda姉御の生命力溢れる声を引き立てている。
前作のライブ音源のバンドスタイルが好きならデモの入った日本版が良いかも。

ところでコステロとの曲はどうなったんや？
