宇宙に誇る音楽生命体=BOREDOMS(V∞REDOMS)、レーベル移籍第1弾作品をリリース!!彼等の人気シリーズ"SUPERROOTS"の、約8年ぶりとなる最新作。今作はなんと譜面集付き(!)パッケージでのリリースで、2004年クリスマスイブに行われたラフォーレミュージアム六本木でのライブ音源を新たに編集した、バンドとしては初のライブ音源となります。

【アーティストについて】
ヤマタカEYヨが中心となって1986年に結成。
88年ソニック・ユースと当時のNYアンダーグランド・シーンの最先端に位置する来日公演で共演。彼らはボアダムスのステージに衝撃を受け、その名は一気にアメリカにも知れ渡る。
98年に歴史的名盤「SUPER ARE」を発表。翌99年にはさらに押し進めた「VISION CREATION NEWSUN」をリリース。
2001年V∞REDOMSとしてドラム3台とDJの形態で円く輪を組み演奏すると言う、ボアダムスの核を追求していく形態を始めていく中、フジロックや国内外のフェスティバルでも活躍中。20年にわたる活動の中で様々な音楽や文化を消化し、浄化して、力強く、衝撃的で美しい活力にあふれた音楽へと変え続けている。

super rootsってカテゴリーがどうでもよくなってんのかな。今までのrootsは次回作への系譜、または実験的サウンドを詰め込んだものと思ってましたが。発売延期だったLIVE盤をその名で出すのかと。seadrum/house of sunをrootsで出せば良かったのに。というのはこだわり過ぎですかね。

確かにボアは凄い、そんな事分かってるboredoms名義で出すにはあまりにも時期ハズレにしか聞こえない、super rootsはもっと実験的な謂わばアイチャン色がもろに出たフットワークの良い作品が多かったためか、いきなりライヴ盤しかも2004年末期にしてピークなもの聴いても悲しくなる。3年間と言う月日は思った以上に長く感じられた。

ライヴ盤のみのリリースがないボアにとっては快挙と言えるが遅すぎるよ。

時代に逆行したワイドプラケースには共感するけど。精神がらしくないよ。

（それとも俺の妄想が概念が強すぎただけなのか？）

にわかには信じがたいが、これはライブ音源。
2004年クリスマスの奇跡。

音が白い。

白いキャンバスにアートしていくようなイメージの鮮やかさは元々彼らに備わっている本質だと思っているけれど、
今作の「白」は、聖夜の雪のような白。
ジャケットが白基調だからそう思うのか？はたまた、クリスマス・ライブという先入観ゆえか？
いや、違う。逆である。
この曲はクリスマスに演奏しなければならなかったし、ジャケットは白基調で無ければいけなかったのだ。

冒頭、シンシンと粉雪の降る、静かなる聖夜の街並みから朦朧と浮き出てくるような聖歌隊の歌声。
「神様、今夜だけはこの冷たい孤独から引っ張り出しておくれ」と、
路上の真ん中で膝をついて指を組む男。
そして、突如眩しい光に包まれる空。

眼を眩ませながら空を見上げる男。

加速するトライバル。
神秘的な電子音。
煌めく聖歌隊。
融合し得ないはずの三つの、凄まじく鮮烈な化学反応。

そして男は、
微笑みの顔で天へ召されていったとさ（勝手に殺すな）

音のミュージカル。
まさかこの領域まで踏み込んでしまうとは。
初めて「Super Are」を聴いた時のあの胸の高鳴りを、
このアルバムのお陰で再び感じることが出来た。
