ミニアルバム「4LOVE」に収録されている『Eternal Love』を聴いて以来、一撃でminkの虜になりました。
以来、1st･2ndコンセプトアルバム「mink」「e+motion」、ミニアルバム「beautiful」「Hold on to a dream」「Innocent Blue」と揃え、聴けば聴くほど深みにはまってゆく歌声に日々酔いしれています。アングラ？物ですが、中島美嘉の『雪の華』をカヴァーした曲は原曲よりも好きになってしまいました。

彼女の出生地は韓国ですが、在日歴が非常に長く、日本語も英語もベラベラ(BoAのようなクセも全くない)ので全く違和感を感じません。それどころか、私自身もフェイバリットであるNorah Jonesを最もリスペクトしており、その奥行きあるハスキーボイスは、まさに和製ノラ･ジョーンズと言っても過言ではないほど聴き手を優しく包みこんでくれます。このアルバムに限らず、minkの曲を流していると気付けば寝ている、ということも多々(汗。直感的に「気持ちいい」と思える、しっとりと柔らかい水のような楽曲が非常に魅力的です。プロフ等は公式よりWikiの方が詳しく載ってますので、ぜひそちらも参照してみてください。

で、今回コレが''1stアルバム''という肩書きで発表されたのですが、全13曲中11曲が既発表曲、1stアルバムにしてこれがベストアルバム、そう言えば聞こえがいいものの、既存ユーザーからしたらバカにしすぎじゃないかと。今までの作品でも焼き直しやイージーなアレンジ、英語/日本語バージョンなど使い回しが目に付いたのですが、いい加減avexのやり方にはウンザリします。なので星-1。

が、数少ない新曲の中でも、『世界で一番綺麗な場所』がまた素晴らしい出来上がり。歌唱力･楽曲とも余りに完成されているため、これまでどうしても日本語歌詞が若干弱いかな、という部分もありましたが、この曲は歌詞もしみじみと考えさせてくれます。

ベスト盤に近いということで、これまで聴いたことのなかった方には逆にお勧めできますし、ファンの方でもまだまだminkの可能性を感じられるアルバムだと思います。私は、もうジャケットのイラストを描いているenaにもハマりそうな勢いです。
中身は正真正銘五つ星の、非常にオススメ作品ですよ♪
