『スプリット』以来約5ヶ月ぶりとなる待望のシングルは、 2006年の4月からJ-WAVE夜の看板番組「TOMORROW」内の名物コーナー「二十歳のころ」のテーマソングとしてオンエアされてきた名曲『やさしいうた』。各界で活躍する著名人やアーティストが、自らの"二十歳のころ"を色褪せない思い出と共に語っていくこのコーナー、メッセージの締めくくりでスネオヘアーの歌声が聞えてくるニクイ演出が冴え渡っており、リスナーからの問い合わせが殺到したというのも納得。
スネオファンにとっては夏のライブからずっと演奏しているお馴染みの曲ですが、シングル化にあたりコーラスアレンジの微妙な変化に加え、なんと総勢14名のストリングスを加え、豪華でリッチな仕上がりに。メロディの良さをストレートに引き出してくれるアレンジになりました。スネオが「二十歳のころ」をイメージして書き下ろした歌詞のメッセージにも注目です。
カップリングには新曲2曲を収録。『SEASON』はスネオ王道のアップテンポなロックチューン。熱いサウンドとはウラハラに冬の寒さが身に染みる、ダメ男くんのフラレソングです。3曲目にはこのシングルにのみ収録されるレアトラック『Smile』を収録。J-WAVEの番組内で使用されていたという『やさしいうた ~二十歳のころ Radio Version~』も収録し、大満足の1枚です。

初めて聞いた時、20歳のころを思い出しつつ思わず泣きました(ﾉ_･。)
前々からメロディーセンスは抜群のスネオでしたが、今回は詞も最高です。
こんな名曲なのにまたそれほど一般的には知られず終わっちゃうんでしょうか？
もったいないなぁ。

ゆっくり流れるメロディに繰り返しが無い叙情的な詞。
『J-WAVE TOMORROW』がきっかけですが聴けば聴く程
タイムスリップして現代に戻るような感覚にすっかり
引き込まれました。心の情景に訴える新しいタイプの演歌？
普段J-POPを聴かない私ですがこれは買いました。

スネオヘアーの新譜ですが、とてもいい仕上がりです。
より優しく甘い声が、胸を苦しくする美メロを奏でます。
二十歳の頃をイメージした歌詞は、二十歳を過ぎた大人にはグッと来るのではないでしょうか。

カップリングのSEASONはロックナンバー、Smileはアコギの音色が心地よいアコースティックナンバー、全体としてもバランスがとれていていいと思います。
二十歳を過ぎた人も、そうでない人も楽しめる内容。
