5.0 out of 5 stars トラン・ヌー・イェン・ケー監督の最高傑作, 2007/2/10
　セリフらしいセリフがほとんどありません。（中国以外の）東アジア･東南アジアの人々特有の、「目で語る」というのでしょうか、東洋人の沈黙の美しさと謎めいた雰囲気が醸し出されていて、とても素敵でした。
　物語は、よく考えてみると丁稚奉公の働き者の少女が美しく健気に成長し、ひたむきに尽くすことで優勢な恋敵から初恋の男性との恋の成就を成し遂げるというストーリーなので、「おしん」に通じる正しく生きることは報われるのだ、とかいう、そんな感じです。
　しかしながら、少女のかわいらしさと美しいけれど愚直にしか成長できない姿に、見た人は夢中になっていきます。何度も見ましたが、詳細なところまでよく考えられているなぁ、と監督のこだわりに感心します。
　ハリウッド映画のような面白さはないけれど、とても価値ある映画だと思います。
実は日本で売り切れ状態だったので、ベトナムまで行って買ってきました。ホント、何度も見てください。ステキですよ。

アジア特有の湿度、熱帯植物のさざめき…
セリフ（言葉）は最小限に抑えられている。
その効果で他の五感が非常に働く映画です。
メイドおばあさんの作るお料理も香りたつような｡｡

その昔、アンアンなどで取り上げられたこの映画。
伝説の映画はシンデレラストーリーでありながら、
1人の女性の成長が細かに描かれています。
尽くしているように見えるがどっこい、自分の仕事を理解してこなす。
その美しさに物語が動くのです。

検索しつづけて早、何年…
DVDが出たことはかなりの喜びです。

きばって暮らしているあなた。
是非見てください。

静かな作品で言葉も少ない。
その分、ピアノなどの音が全体に響く。
下働きのムイという少女の大人になっていく姿を
とおしてアジアの静かな感性がやさしく美しく響く。
じっと耐える姿はリンとして美しく
その中から幸せを感じていくことを通して、
アジア的な情緒が感じられる。

また、ベトナムの家の造りや食事が
自然の中に一体化しているのが、
東洋の作品を感じさせる。

好き嫌いはあると思うが
西洋の起承転結のはっきりした作品とは
一味違う映像美だと思う。
