シンプルなストーリーの青春映画。主役のふたりはそんなに図抜けた美男美女ではないし、設定だって、チョット唐突なところもあるんだけれど、出てくるのが基本的に「イイひと」で、なんというか、こんな仲間と一緒に過ごせたら楽しいだろうな、とおもう。ヘンに穿（うが）ったところのない世界。演技も素朴で良い。

キャメロン・クロウ監督の映画は最近のものしか観た事がありませんでしたが
ジョン・キューザック主演の「セイ・エニシング」は意外に面白かったです。
ありがちな設定のわかりやすい青春ロマンスものですが、
何度観ても飽きないストーリーです。
そして何よりもジョン・キューザックの魅力と演技が光っています！
こんな彼氏がいたら幸せだなあと素直に思いました。
この頃のジョンは本当に最高です。是非「シュア・シング」のＤＶＤ化して欲しいです。

ロイドは、明るく元気でキックボクシングが好きな高校生。卒業式で総代としてスピーチを読む優等生ダイアンに恋をした彼は、早速彼女をプロムパーティに誘う。優等生ということで周りから敬遠されていたダイアンだが、ロイドと一緒に行くパーティで友人も出来、何よりもロイドのあたたかい魅力に惹かれていく。ところが、ダイアンを男手ひとつで育てあげた父親ジェームズは、２人の交際を快くは思っていなかった。・・・
快活で素朴な男の子と、聡明だけれど孤独だった女の子が織り成すラブストーリー。特にロイドは本当にどこにでもいそうだけれど、友達に信頼されていたり、大好きなダイアンに対して心配りを見せる様子に、すっかり私も魅了されてしまいました。特にお気に入りなのは、２人がガラスが散らばっている道路に出てくる場面。ダイアンに「気をつけて」と声をかけて、彼女がガラスを踏まないように配慮する彼に、すっかり参ってしまいました。英国留学の奨学生であるダイアンに対して、キックボクシングに夢中で将来の進路も白紙のロイド。高嶺の花には釣り合わないようなキャラクターのはずが、何気なく見せる優しさ、あたたかさ、頼もしさがいっぱいであふれていて、そんな彼に一途に愛されるダイアンが羨ましいです。
親との葛藤、初々しくも心が通い合わない時など、青春映画の要素がたくさんのストーリーですが、内容は可もなく不可もなく、という印象。それでも観終わった後に爽やかな気持ちになれるのは、まさに主人公ロイドの人間的魅力のおかげだと思います。
