　木村カエラの事は、失礼ながら「モデル出身のタレントが、活動の一環として音楽をやっている。」ぐらいにしか思っていなかった。つまり、アーティストと認識していなかった。
　その印象が変わったのが、モード学園のＣＭで流れていた「ＴＲＥＥ　ＣＬＩＭＢＥＲＳ」その曲が収められているという事で、アルバムを購入。聴いてみると以前の思い込みが間違っていた事が分かった。
　ヴォーカルとして表現能力が豊かだし、なにより声質が澄んでいて透明感があるため、聴いていてとても心地いい。自分の場合、歌のうまさよりも声質の好みを重視するので、彼女のクセの無いクリアな歌声はとても好感が持てた。

　オススメはやはり「ＴＲＥＥ　ＣＬＩＭＢＥＲＳ」そして「Ｓｎｏｗ　ｄｏｍｅ」もいい。
「アーティスト」木村カエラの今後の活動に注目していきたいと思う。

これはモデルによるポップス作品ではなく
一人の歌い手によるロックアルバムである。

全曲いい、単純に。でもいいだけでは終わっていない。
説明が難しいが優れたロックシンガーは形式だけの気持ちいいぜ！的な
ものだけじゃなく所謂｢空気感」と「純度」を持ち合わせているもの。
このアルバムでは３枚目にして遂にそれが確立された気がするのだ。
（モデルから歌手になった人をロックシンガーと呼ぶのには抵抗があったが
「TREE CLIMBERS」を聴いてそうも言えなくなった。）

作家陣が豪華云々よりも今回は木村カエラの成長を祝したい。
｢ワニと小鳥」「きりんタン」「Magic Music」など、独自の詩が増えており
1stと比べると大分作詞の幅と言葉選びが上達してるなと思った。
もちろん作家陣は豪華だ。NIRGILISなど意外な組み合わせもある。
そのなかでもクラムボンのミトによる「neverland」は特に秀逸だ。
前作の提供曲でも思ったが「合わなさそう」と思える曲調を敢えてぶつける
この人のセンスは凄い。それに見事に応える彼女も凄い。
「TREE CLIMBERS」の次にこのアルバムで好きな曲。一曲目「L.drunk」も格好いい。

2ndからクオリティは高かったが近作で更に一皮抜けた印象。
次はBuffalo Daughterあたりの曲提供を聴いてみたい。

木村カエラの最新アルバム「Scratch」ですが、非常に彼女自身の個性が表れている作品だと思いました。収録曲全てが良いです。中には彼女自身の見方やその歌詞にこめた思いが伝わってくるものあります。まず買って損はないと思われます。（自分で言うとなんか変な感じがしますが・・・・）
