ゲームの完成度、面白さは他の方のレビューの通りで、まさに最高傑作と呼べる物になっています。
ドリームファクトリーはこの後スクウェアでエアガイツ、バウンサーと格闘ゲームを発売していますがトバル2は知名度が低いのが残念ですね。
さてこのゲーム、操作システムが他の格ゲーと違い独特です。
ただそれは決してマイナス要素な訳ではなくて3D格闘に打ってつけのシステムになっています。
注目すべきなのはコンボですね。
特定のタイミングで入力する事によって普通では繋がらないコンボが繋がっていき、それを連続でする事によって最終的に十数ヒットにもなるので上手くなれば気分爽快です。
敵を打ち上げてから開始する空中コンボは格ゲー史に残る爽快度だと思います。
では初心者には始め辛いのかと言われるとそうではありません。
このゲームのトレーニングモードは大変優れていて、他のゲームのように必殺技コマンドの表示をして技を暗記してもらうと言う仕組みを取っておらず、コンボのタイミングが来たら押すべきボタンを表示するという仕組みです。
これのおかげで自然とコンボがつなげるようになり、初心者から中級者へのステップアップが比較的容易になっていると思います。
もちろん必殺技コマンドは説明書に乗っていますのでそこら辺は大丈夫です。
掴み→投げのシステムも大変優れており、投げを抜けるのはもちろん、状況によってはそこから投げ返すという事も可能です。
さらに状況によってはその投げ返しから抜け出して投げ返すなんて事も出来ますので上級者同士の対戦だと非常に面白い光景が見れると思います。

まとめ：格闘ゲームとしての駆け引きが非常に優れている作品です。
またキャラクター、モードが充実しているので長く遊べると思います。

３D格闘ゲームの中ではバーチャ４evo・鉄拳TAG・DOA３（次点でソウルキャリバー３）
などが好きなのですが、このトバル２もこれらに匹敵する楽しさです。
さすがに今となってはグラフィックは見劣りしますが。（PSの中では綺麗な方。）

確かチョコボの不思議なダンジョンに付いていたオマケディスクで
全キャラ使用可能になった気が…。

トバルNo.1があまり面白くなかったので敬遠した人も多いのではと思いますが
３D格闘ゲームが好きなら１度は試して欲しいですね、安いですし。

ただ、残念なのはベスト版の発売があまりにも遅かった事。今更という感じです。

それでも３D格闘ゲームが好きならプレイして欲しいって思います。
