「りんごのうた」以来約3年ぶりの椎名林檎名義のシングルとなる今作は、音楽監督を務めた2007年春公開の映画『さくらん』のエンディング・テーマ曲。
デビューアルバムからの付き合いである斎藤ネコがアレンジと指揮を担当し、総勢約70名編成のオーケストラによるサウンドは圧巻。また、ゲスト・ヴォーカルに兄椎名純平を迎え、温かな唄声が絢爛な音に乗って深い味わいを見せる。カップリングの2曲は、『さくらん』映画音楽とは別バージョンの新作で、いずれの楽曲も椎名の新たな魅力を発見でき、興味は尽きない。

【アーティストについて】
1978年11月25日生まれ 福岡市出身
98年シングル『幸福論』でデビュー。以降4枚のアルバム『無罪モラトリアム』(99年)、『勝訴ストリップ』(2000年)、『唄ひ手冥利~其ノ壱~』(カバー集 02年)、『加爾基 精液 栗ノ花』(03年)を発表。
03年 バンド東京事変を結成。04年1stアルバム『教育』を発表。
一部メンバーチェンジを経て今年06年1月に発表した2ndアルバム『大人』がチャート1位を獲得。
06年映画『さくらん』で音楽監督に発就任。
07年2月22日に映画をイメージし作られた椎??比の世界を表現する音楽家。

東京事変を得て椎名林檎がソロ名義として4年ぶりのソロシングルとアルバムを発表!有線とかで聴いたらオーケストラの演奏には圧巻されました!なかなかいい出来ですし、兄であるミュージシャンの椎名純平とのデュエットは最高にハモってます!デビュー以来の斎藤ネコとの最強ダッグは必見ですね。

「この世の限り」とても好きです。英詞の部分をよくよく読み進めていくと儚くてじわじわと込み上げてくるものがあります。お兄さんである椎名純平さんともよく合っていて素敵です。

「カリソメ乙女」もインストですが充分に聴く価値がある楽曲だと思います。ネコさんのバイオリンが情熱的で艶のある音色が映画「さくらん」のあの妖艶な雰囲気にも合っているのではないでしょうか。

■この世の限り
　事変とは違う落ち着いた曲で、良いと思いますよ。
　さすがビッグバンド編成！！
　二人の声のハーモニーが素晴らしい。さすが兄妹！
■錯乱
　イントロを聴くと今から一体何が始まるのかと思ってしまうワクワク感がありますｗ
　長谷川きよし氏の色も出ているのではないでしょうか？
■カリソメ乙女
　え！？インスト！？と思いましたが、これはこれでいいですよ。
　ヨーヨーマを思い出しました。

バックのオケに負けない椎名氏の声の美しさに感銘を受けました。
あ、亀田師匠ではなく、斉藤ネコ氏編曲です。お忘れなく
今までのようなバンドサウンドではないです。オーケストラのビックバンド編成ですので。
