ものすごい悲劇だと思った。
ラストで、「もしかしたらこんな未来もあったのかもしれないのに」と思うと
悲しくてしょうがなかった。
特に寺島進さんのところは、寺島さんの役にムカついていた分、切なかった。

賛否あるこの映画のもっとも駄目な処は、原作アニメの持つ高次元での自然保護と言う深いテーマを単に戦争反対と言うテーマにしてしまった事でしょう。
湾岸戦争に合わせたのでしょうが、地球環境を叫ばれてる時ですから元々のテーマを変えて欲しくは無かったです。
まぁ映像的には、とても綺麗ですけど…

世界観も映像も好きですが、いかんせん面白くない。
脚本というか筋はいいですが監督の力不足か、映像だけの力技で見せている感じ。

俳優の演技も細切れでやはり分かりにくく無声映画でも良かったのではないか。
むしろもう少し短くして無声映画にした方が良かったんじゃないか。

戦闘自体もCGを使ってる割には格好良くないですし。

トータルの印象としては壮大なテーマはあるんだが
伝わりきれていない長い退屈なCG作品になってしまっています。
