聴いてみてまず感じるのは、色彩感豊かな音色である。前作『あざやか』のモノクロームな落ち着いた印象とはまた異なる。彼らがさらに次のステップへと進化した。
デビュー時から持っている純粋で真摯に音楽と向き合う姿勢は貫かれているし、山崎ゆかりの作るメロディーの特異さも変わりはしない。そこに今作品からメンバーが三人になったことで、グループとして刺激を受けて音が変わり、最初に書いたような印象を持ったのだろう。もっと彼らの音楽を聴きたい。もう次のアルバムが待ち遠しい。ぜひともフルアルバムを期待したい。

前作にあったブルースっぽいメロディ面での湿り気がなくなり、曲調が明るくなりました。メロディラインがとかというよりも、音質自体が変わりました。音が明るい響きを吹き込まれたように彩りあるものになっています。
また、湿った気持ちの表現を山崎さんの歌詞だけで表現しきるようになりました。この成長のおかげか、メロディ面が明るいままで実に自由に動いてくれます。新加入の窪田さんのオルガンもゆるさとタイトなリズム感を両立した、気持ちのいい「空気的な」演奏です。後半のインストも「ねむり」のようなノスタルジックなサイケさを醸し出していて、そこから一歩進んだのだ、と感じさせるところがありますね。

前作で戸惑ったファンには安心して「買い」の作品ですし、空気公団を知らない方にも文句なしに質の高さを納得してもらえる作品です。もっと知ってる人が増えてほしいバンドですね。
