低域のノイズキャンセルに割り切っているのが潔い。キャンセリングon-offで音質に殆ど変化が見られないのもこの価格ではグッド。
惜しいのはヘッドバンド。プラスチックむき出しの上、縁の部分が頭側に少し出っ張っているので「頭が痛ーーい」。

以前購入したSE-MJ7NSとの比較です。

・単体での消音効果は、SE-MJ7NSの方がよく感じます。
　SE-MJ7NSは密閉型なので、それもあるかもしれません。
・音楽を聴いているときは、どちらも同じぐらいの効果です。
・音楽を聴いていないときのサー音はHP-NC80のほうが小さいです。
・ケーブルは、SE-MJ7NSは左側接続で着脱可能なので単体として利用するなら便利です。
　HP-NC80は両側で着脱不可なので気になる人は気になります。
・折りたたみは、SE-MJ7NSは間接部にケーブルが内蔵されているので、折りたたみしすぎたせいか、ケーブルがつぶれてしまい、右側が聞こえづらくなりました。
・重さは、HP-NC80の方が軽いです。電池も単四×１で経済的。SE-MJ7NSは単四×２。少し重いですが、慣れれば気になりません。
・装着間は、HP-NC80の方が楽に感じますが、長時間だと耳が痛くなります。SE-MJ7NSは最初は少しきつめでしたが、慣れてしまえば気になりませんでした。耳がすっぽり隠れるので痛さなどはありません。
・音質は、HP-NC80の方がクリアに聞こえる感じがします。聞き比べるとSE-MJ7NSのほうは、少しこもっているように感じます。
・スイッチは、SE-MJ7NSにはボリュームつまみがあるので意外と便利でした。HP-NC80になかったのは残念です。

HP-NC80は音楽をよく聞こえるようにNCが働いているように感じます。
一方、単体の消音ではSE-MJ7NSの方が分があるように感じます。
外観・音質など好みによりますが、どちらも実用的には同じレベルだと思います。
コストパフォーマンスからすれば十分満足できます。
普段の通勤にはHP-NC80、集中したいときや長時間の使用にはSE-MJ7NSと使い分けています。

音楽を聴くなどの用途より外出時の騒音（店内でのBGMや喋り声）などを減らすのが目的で購入しました。
なので音楽に関しては分かりません。
キャンセリングのみの効果については軽減したことを実感しています。
バスに乗ってみたら「いつもより静かなバスに乗ったなぁ」と(笑)
疲れてるときはバスの振動が心地よく思いました。隣にいる子供の声も聞き取りづらいし。
この部類では価格が安いほうだと思うので満足してます。
ちょっと壊れやすく感じますが収納状態が、けっこう自由に出来るのはビックリ！
「プラスチック剥き出しで頭が痛い」に関しては長時間の使用だと私も少し痛いと感じました。
これは帽子の上から装着するかプラスチックの部分を布で巻くなどで解決可能。
価格を考えたら初めて使う人にはオススメできると思います。
