８０年発表、デヴィッド・ポメランツの４thアルバム『涙のくちづけ』。
今回紙ジャケット仕様で世界初CD化された本作。
紙ジャケはＥ式シングルジャケット。内袋付き。
内容としてはまさに極上のAORで、
今までCD化されていなかったのが信じられないほどの名盤です。

本作収録の「オールド・ソング」はフジテレビ系ドラマ『成田離婚』で
挿入歌として使われていたので、聴いたことのある方も多いはずです。
また、何よりそのドラマでは本作のLP盤が重要な役割を持ったアイテムとして
物語の中にたびたび登場しました。

そのため、ドラマを観た方は本作のジャケットを見ただけでピンと来たはず。
私も以前そのドラマを観ていたので先日店頭で本作を見かけた際、
“あれっ？このジャケはもしや‥‥？”と思い、即買いしてしまいました（笑）

また、今回歌詞をじっくり読んでみて「オールド・ソング」の歌詞が
『成田離婚』のストーリーにマッチしたものだったことをはじめて知りました。

“火の灯ったキャンドル。冷えたグラス。”

“やり直すチャンスが欲しい。
　でも、もし僕の思惑だけで彼女の心の扉が開かなかったら、
　あの頃の思い出のシングル盤をかけてみよう‥‥。”

“どうして僕らは別れたのか。
　あの頃の歌があの頃の記憶を呼び戻してくれたら
　彼女は僕とやり直す気になってくれるかもしれない。”

ドラマを観た方なら、二人がマンションを去る最後の夜に
このLPをかけながらグラスを飲み交わす場面がすぐに浮かぶと思います。

「オールド・ソング」１曲のためでも十分買う価値はありますが、
他の曲もそれに負けないほど美しいバラードや、ポップなロックなど聴き所は満載です。
買ってまだ数日ですが、個人的にはボズ・スキャッグスの『シルク・ディグリーズ』と並ぶ、お気に入りのAORアルバムです。
音質も素晴らしいので、買って損はない作品だと思います。おすすめです。

繊細な歌声、自分自身に語りかけるような内省的な歌詞、３分から５分の間に、しっかりとメロ、サビと構成をまとめたコンパクトかつ濃密な楽曲。　これほど完成度が高く、我々日本人の心の琴線に否が応でも触れまくるこのアルバムが、初CD化というのは驚きです。　アーティスト本人は楽曲作りにかなり苦労されたようですが、その苦労がこのクオリティの高さに十二分に反映しています。　ドラマに何度か使われたというキラーチューン１は言うまでもなく極上ですが、僕の個人的なおすすめは４曲目。　シンコペーションのリズムにのせて、「Everybody!」と叫ぶデヴィッドと子供のコーラスがとても微笑ましくて、とても心が暖まります。　子供も踊りたくなるような曲です。　これ一曲だけのためでも買いです！

よくぞ、ここまで女々しい男心を歌にしたと思うくらいの歌詞と歌いっぷり。
男はいつでもかっこよくいられるわけじゃないから、「あの頃聴いた曲をかければ、あの頃の二人に戻れるかも知れない」なんてセンチメンタルな思いに身を沈めたくなることもある。素直で優しい歌声はそれを許してくれる。
