コミック「すもももももも」のＤＶＤ版。その第一巻目となる。
ＤＶＤ第一巻には、コミック第０話が収録されている。
ＤＶＤ版はコミック版とストーリーの流れは同じなものの、コミック版より多くのシーンが追加されている。
もも子が愛妻弁当をもってくるシーンや、考士が猫を助けるシーン、美術のシーン、保健室のシーン、入浴シーンなどはコミックにはない。
ＤＶＤの映像も非常に綺麗でＴＶ録画とは比較にはならない。

ＴＶ版では削除修正されたシーンか復活されているとのことだが、ＴＶ版の一回目は見ていないので、この点は比較できない。どうやら もも子の「せ　せっ…」のセリフらしい。

ＤＶＤ第二巻以降は３話収録なのに、第一巻では１つの話のみで、価格が３９９０円と高め。
オープニングとエンディングを含めた本編の時間は２３分程度しかない。
応募者全員プレゼント企画でもしていただければ価格とつりあいが取れたと思う。

このＤＶＤはパソコン画面で見るよりも、できるだけ大画面で見ると面白い。
８０インチくらいで見ると、もも子が竜を出すシーンなどかなり迫力がある。そしてこの竜のＣＧもかなり綺麗な仕上げをしているように感じた。

オーディオコメンタリィとして、映像にあわせて声優さんが（地声で）おしゃべりする「すももな裏話」が付いているが、考士やもも子のイメージが変わってしまうので、このあたり気にする人は、当分は聞かないほうがよいと思う。

最後に、
再生してすぐの、
「ＤＶＤを見るときは、明るい部屋で離れてみてください」のお決まりのイントロにも、オチがしかけてあって笑えました。でも、小さいお子様にこのＤＶＤは見せられないですね。

原作は最初の方からしってましたが、いつの間にかアニメでやってたんですね。
最近のアニメはいまいち似たり寄ったりで正直楽しめないものが多いのですが、このアニメは
作画もいいし、動きもいいと思います。セル画時代に近い感覚で見れるので気に入りました。
色もなかなかいい出来ですね、一度力をこめたOVAとか見てみたい気もします。

　ＤＶＤ版では、ＴＶ放送版で変更されてしまった映像やセリフなどの箇所が原作に近いそうなので購入する価値はあると思います。
　しかし、１話でこの値段は・・・高い。
