約9ヵ月振りの待望のニュー・シングルは、話題のアニメーション映画「鉄コン筋クリート」の主題歌。アジカンが映画の主題歌を書き下ろすのは今回が初めて。メンバーの手元に脚本が届けられた後も、何度も監督マイケル・アリアス氏との意見交換が行われ楽曲が作られたとのこと。映画を壊さずに、それでいて素晴らしい曲であることを目標に、原作への愛情をもって制作に取り組んだという本作。人と街と愛、独特の世界観に引き込まれる「鉄コン筋クリート」の世界でどんな音で鳴るのか。

もともとアジカンも『鉄コン筋クリート』も私は好きなのですが、この作品は両者の良さが少しも損なわれていないすばらしい１曲だと思います。
サウンド的には『ファンクラブ』の流れを汲む多少重苦しい雰囲気の曲なのですが、詞は明らかに『鉄コン』に沿った内容で、『鉄コン』に描かれる“街”の匂いや空気、シロとクロの躍動感がまさに音楽によって丁寧に再現されています。
白でもなく、黒でもない灰色の街で様々な種類の人間が行き交う混沌の世界で、純粋な想いが向かう先を示唆した『鉄コン』の世界観を、ゴッチはよく理解しているように思います。それでいてこの手のタイアップによくある不自然な感じが全然ないアジカンらしい曲でもあります。
正直『鉄コン』のファンとしては作品に余計なイメージをつける音楽は、世界観が損なわれるだけだと思っていたのですが、このアジカンの曲は本当にすばらしい出来だと思います。

過去のアジカンの曲の良いところを引継ぎながら、さらにそれに+αを足した曲。それというのも、過去のアジカンの曲の中でも、とりわけ、静と動を大切にしているところあたりが違う。
だからこんなにも心に響く。こんなにもせつない。

「ワールドアパート」以来のシングルで、ワールドアパートとは少し違う感じがした。PVもこちらのほうが自分的に気に入っている。私は、映画を観たのじゃなくアジカンが好きなので買った。始めのイントロは少し余韻を聴かせる感じで、なんだかあんまし元気な曲じゃないのかな？とか思ったりするけれど、最後はいい具合にはじけていて自分的には最高だった。特に、サビに行くまでの歌詞が気に入っている。
